Close As a Memory, Thinking of You Card

Well I had planned on posting this card tomorrow but Blogger decided to post it today instead, oh well, here it is! :)
I've been under the weather the last couple of days with what I think is a sinus infection, my head feels like it could exploded, ha! I'm on medicine, so hopefully it will clear up SOON! I'm behind on some projects, but they will just have to wait until later. I did want to share some cards that I made last night, forgot to take a picture of one, a sympathy card that I needed to get out and the other one was a sympathy card for a friend who recently lost one of her dogs. I sure hope this trend doesn't continue any further into the year.
This is a card that I'm sending to someone who is going thru cancer treatment, no I don't know this lady but I sure hope it brightens her spirits some.
Here is what I used:
Stampin" Up: Close As a Memory and Like it a Latte, markers and bashful blue cardstock, oval punch and scallop oval punch
Ribbon: either Michael's or Jo-Ann's
I hope you enjoy viewing my simple cards, next time I post I will show you two more cards that I made and hopefully by then I will have the crochet baby bib done to share with you to and maybe a new recipe, it's been awhile since I posted a recipe.
Have a crafty day and hope that all of you are staying healthy! Mary

Birthday Card for my Uncle

Hi everyone!! Did you think I had forgotten all of you...no way could I forget my blogging friends! The weather has turned cold again, we did have some days with it in the 70's, but winter is not ready to leave just yet.

The card I'm, posting today was inspired by a sympathy card that I received from my friend, Chanda. I needed to make my uncle a birthday card for his upcoming birthday in March. Boy, do I have a hard time making cards for men, I just don't know what to put on them so that they don't feel overly girly to them. So I decided on a dog card. "Does he like dogs", my husband asked, um, I don't really know the answer to that question, I sure hope he does! I decided to put some grass under the dog and once I got started was thinking that I really made a huge mistake, but after looking some more at it, I decided that it was going to be OK, especially after I used some blue chalk to make the sky with. I wanted the card to be fairly simple and not bulky for mailing. I wrapped some ribbon around and put the paw print over it to help keep it in that area. It came together fairly quick too.

Supplies used:
Stampin' Up: D is for Dog stamp set, dimensonals, glue dots
Paper: Bazzil
Ribbon: Jo-Ann's

I have made some other cards but have already posted those before, so I didn't want to repeat them. Thanks for dropping in and have a crafty day...........Mary

Happy Valentine's Day

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!
I hope you all are having a great day today. The weather here today is wonderful, the sun is out and it warm too, above 40! Gee, maybe spring is coming soon.
Here is the card that I made for my two daughters for Valentine's day. Mom and Dad always put alittle cash inside so that they can get what they would like. Now I don't make alot of these kinds of cards because I just don't give them to everyone, just the girls, so I don't have any valentine stamp sets, so I have to get creative when I make them.
Stampin' Up: scalloped oval, oval punches, embossing folder and Flexible Phrase (retired set).
Marvy punch: heart
Ribbon:Jo-Ann's
Paper:Bazill
Oh I don't know why this is double spacing today, ugh! Anyway, have a great day and a crafty one too........Mary

More Cards For Those Who Need A Lift

Hi everyone! Hope that you are all staying nice an toasty warm, it is so cold here.

Since it has been so cold outside, I've had more time to stay indoors and play in the craft room, which is a very good thing! I've made a few more cards for requests that I found on Splitcoaststampers. I also found this card layout over at SCS HERE. It was a simple, easy card to make and you could easily add whatever sentiment to it that you would need. I cut the scallop rectangle as well as the regular rectangle with my Nesties. Stamp' Up stamp set, "Watercolor Trio", as well as the paper and markers to color the stamp with. Ribbon is from Jo-Ann's and white paper is from Bazzil.

Hope you all have some extra time to play in your craft/stamp rooms too...........Mary

Birthday Card for Linda

Hi to all of you! I want to share a card that I made for my friend, Linda's birthday. It was February 3rd, so I know she has received it by now, I didn't want her to see it here first. Hi Linda!!!

I really like this stamp set from Stampin' Up called "Bloom" (it is a retire set). I just love hydrangeas, I love the many different colors that they can bloom in, blue, pink, purple and white...so pretty! I used my coluzzle oval and my Nestie scallop oval, than my Stampin' Up markers and a blender pen to color the flowers in with, scalloped punch is Stampin' Up as is the oval punch. Ribbon is from Jo-Ann's and paper is Bazzil. Oh the sentiment is from "Watercolor Trio" also Stampin' Up.

Thanks for droppin by and pleas leave a comment, I'd love to hear from you!! Mary

She belongs to a sorority called Kappa Alpha Theta or KAT or Theta's . The sorority's flower is the pansy, so I wanted to incorporate that into my card. I think she will be surprised when she opens the envelope and see it!!

Dog Thank You Card

Hi everyone, I'm back once again. I just wanted to thank all of my blogging friends who sent me messages about my Sammy girl, I truly appreciated everyone of them. Life is going on, but Sammy has left a empty spot in our house that will be hard to fill.

I wanted to share with you the card that I made to send to our vet. We appreciated the fact that he dropped what he was doing with his family last Sunday night to come and help us with Sam. He really is a very kind, generous, compassionate man, we feel blessed to have him as our vet.

The stamp set is from Stampin' Up called "D is for Dog", corner punch is also from Stampin' Up. Paper is Bazzil, ribbon is some free stuff from Archiver's, brad is Memory Makers.

Oh, we are in the middle of a blizzard here in Kansas City, blowing wind, snow and last I heard 9 inches, SO FAR!!! Boy is it ever going to be cold when clearing the sideway and driveway tomorrow!!

Hope you all are staying warm and have a crafty day too! Mary
