Vintage Verses SAB Stamp Set

Good day to all!  I thought today I would show you a card that I made using some of the new Spring Catalog items and a freebie from the SAB leaflet too.  I made this to send to my friend who suffered a bad stroke, she is on the mend, and I want her to know how much she means to so many.  I just have to figure out how to mail it so the flowers don't get all mashed during mailing.

I made those small little flowers with the new 7/8" punch, the Creped filter paper, ink pad, sponge dauber and a mini brad.  I held together the filter paper and a piece of copy paper, to give it a little bit of body, then put it into my punch and punched out six scallops.  Then I laid the punched pieces on my ink pad and sponged some ink onto both sides, set it aside for a couple of minutes to dry and then stacked the six pieces together and used my paper piercing tool to punch a hole in the center and insert the brad into the middle.  Open the feet of the brad and CAREFULLY scrunch up each layer, then fluff it out some, be gentle, the creped paper will tear easy.  Now to be honest, I probably will not make these flowers again, because when you mail them they will not arrive looking very pretty, perfect for hand delivery though, but I had this idea in my mind and I had to at least give it a try.

Owl Occasions Happy Birthday

Hi everyone!!  Well I finally got some play time in my craft room yesterday, boy did it feel good too have a chance to create.  I must admit though, it was hard to get the creative juices flowing but they finally came through, whew.

I saw a card similar to this one on another demonstrators blog, so I used hers as inspiration for mine.  She used different colors and embossing folders, but I always try to use what I have, so this is my take on it.  I made it into a birthday card, because it seems that you can never have to many of those and I think this would work for a man's birthday too.  I hand cut the owl out and popped him up on a dimensional.

Products used:

Stamp set: Owl Occasions (retired) and Teeny Tiny Wishes
Card stock: Basic Gray, Old Olive, Basic Black, Whisper White
Core'dinations Primrose Petals
Silver Glimmer Paper
sanding block
Chevron embossing folder

Well, thank you for stopping by, I appreciate it so very much!      Mary

    Happy Birthday Card

Well, I made it back today, yea!  My Mom's birthday was on Jan. 6th, so this is the card that I made for her.  I'm so pleased with the way it turned out too, so soft and pretty!

I took some Pink Pirouette ink and applied it to the backside of my Lacy Brocade embossing folder with a brayer.  I love the soft, subtle look it gave to the paper, almost like lace.  Also using a softer shade of pink gives it just the right amount of color so that it doesn't over power the design.

    All supplies are Stampin' Up!
Stamp sets: Pleasant Poppies, En Francais, Friendly Phrases and Everything Eleanor
Ink: Pink Pirouette, Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Crumb Cake and Black Staz-On

I was inspired to make this card after seeing one similar on Sandi MacIver's blog, Thanks Sandi for the inspiration!

Sympathy Card for a Female, #2

Well I was hoping that I would not need another sympathy card but I received a phone call last night from a friend, her sister passed away unexpectedly. I had this card about half way made, was going to use it for a Thank you card, but had to switch gears and turned it into a sympathy card instead. The stamp set I used is from Stampin' Up called "Dear Friend" it is a retired set as is the paper I used for the card. The sentiment is from a current set called "Thoughts & Prayers. I used SU scallop oval punch for the sentiment and used pop dots to lift it up off the cardstock. The ribbon is some from Jo-Ann's. I used a scallop punch from Fiskars. Sorry about the picture, it is cloudy here this morning as we had rain all night long. Have a great day, Mary.

So sorry, somehow this got reposted from a couple years ago.
