Pleasant Poppies

Hello my friends, how are you all doing?  Well I hope.  On Wednesday our temps got up to 80 degrees and hubby mowed the lawn for the first time of the year.

The other day when I was using some of the blue tissue paper that comes in the Paper Pumpkin kits, I was trying to think of other way to use it.  Well I saw a video over on Frances Martin's blog where she stamped on white tissue paper and the light bulb came on!  I believe it is called Faux Linen technique.  Here is what I came up with.

I colored the image in on the back-side of the tissue paper with my markers.  I really like how it came out!  A nice way to use what some would throw away.

Stamp set: Pleasant Poppies and Love & Sympathy
Card stock: Whisper White
SU Markers: Pool Party, Crushed Curry and Pear Pizzazz
Ink: Black StazOn
Ribbon: Coastal Cabana SAB (retired)

I hope you have a wonderful, crafty Easter week-end too!  Bye for now…..Mary

Pleasant Poppies

Hi everyone, hope you have having a great Wednesday, so far so good here.

Today I want to show you a card that I made using the same stamp set but just changed the sentiment on the front.  I'm going to be giving these cards, and some of the other ones I've shared with you, to my friend who was so very nice to me recently, I think she will enjoy getting them too!

I pulled out my Rich Razzleberry, which has sat unused for far too long to make my cards.  It is a very rich, elegant color in my humble opinion too.

At first I was going to leave the white space on the left of the stamped image alone, but it just didn't feel right.  So I pulled out another stamp set French Foliage and used two of the small background stamps in it, stamping the image off twice, then stamping onto my background.  Ahh, much better!

As you know, I like to color, so I had a good time coloring in my poppies!

Products used:

Stamp sets: Pleasant Poppies, French Foliage, Petite Pairs
Card stock: Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry and Crumb Cake
Ink: Rich Razzleberry Crumb Cake
Markers: Rich Razzleberry, Certainly Celery, So Saffron and Old Olive
Large Oval, Scallop Oval punches
1/8" Taffeta Rich Razzleberry, retired
dimensionals
blender pen

Well, this is my share for today, happy stamping!   Mary

Happy Birthday Card

Well, I made it back today, yea!  My Mom's birthday was on Jan. 6th, so this is the card that I made for her.  I'm so pleased with the way it turned out too, so soft and pretty!

I took some Pink Pirouette ink and applied it to the backside of my Lacy Brocade embossing folder with a brayer.  I love the soft, subtle look it gave to the paper, almost like lace.  Also using a softer shade of pink gives it just the right amount of color so that it doesn't over power the design.

All supplies are Stampin' Up!
Stamp sets: Pleasant Poppies, En Francais, Friendly Phrases and Everything Eleanor
Ink: Pink Pirouette, Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Crumb Cake and Black Staz-On
Card stock: Whisper White, Pink Pirouette and Regal Rose

I was inspired to make this card after seeing one similar on Sandi MacIver's blog, Thanks Sandi for the inspiration!

Pleasant Poppies

Happy rainy Saturday too all of you!  We have received much needed rain here in Kansas City, 6.6 inches so far, what a blessing too!

The other day I was in the mood to do some coloring and had not made a card with this stamp yet, so what better one to use then this one.  It did take awhile to color but I have always like to color, even as a small child!

All products are from Stampin' Up!

Stamp set: Pleasant Poppies, Lovely Labels and Tiny Tags
Card stock: Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie, Early Espresso
Ink: Black StazOn
Markers: Certainly Celery, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie and gee I don't remember the last one
Ribbon: SAB 1/4" ribbon (retired)
Punch: Little Labels Punch Pack

This card is so much prettier in person and I really like how it turned out.

Thank you for dropping my to see me today, I appreciate it!                Mary
