Paper Pumpkin Cards

Sorry about not posting on Wednesday, time got away from me and I didn't have any of my post done for pre-posting.

I recently got my Paper Pumpkin kit in the mail and thought I would share the cards that I made with them.  Ok, so here we go…

Everything that I used was included in the kit, win-win!  You can follow the example they include in the kit or you can make the cards anyway you would like.

Thanks for dropping in to see me, I appreciate all of you!  Mary

So Sorry

Well, these are the kind of cards that we don't like to make but are necessary to let our fiends and love ones know that we are thinking of them at a difficult time.  Now I didn't need one, but I thought to myself that I probably should have some made up and on hand when and if I would need one.

I used Deb Valder's card that I found HERE.  I did do mine different then hers.  I used the Hardwood background stamp instead of an embossing folder.  I also used a smaller sentiment as I wanted my background to be more visible on the card front.

I also wanted to try using Crumb Cake for the lattice instead of Whisper White, I think on the next one I will try Whisper White for the lattice.  Do you see the Basic Pearls in the center of the Petite Petals, I colored those with a BIC (Peach Parfait) marker.  I stamped the flowers using Blushing Bride.  I used the Bird Builder Punch for the leaves.  The background is Soft Sky and the ink is Crumb Cake.  For the sentiment is used So Sorry stamp and the flowers are Petite Petals.  Punches are Petite Petal and the larger oval punch, oh, and of course the Chevron punch, which is used on two pieces of card stock, that when done punching you have the arrows going in opposite directions and interlock them to form the lattice.  It's not a hard card to make and it makes me long for spring too!!  Mary

By The Tide Birthday Card

Good Friday to all of you, I hope you are all doing well and stamping too!

The next three weeks I have family birthday cards coming due.  You've seen the two that I made for my aunts, the one I'm sharing today is for my uncle.  Now I don't know if he is a fisherman but I thought this would make a nice card for him.  I found this card over on Julie Gearinger blog and thought it would make a great card for him.  The only thing different I did on my card was to use Linen Thread as I thought the jute would be to bulky for mailing.

I used Whisper White and Midnight Muse card stock. Ink colors are Pool Party, Marina Mist and Midnight Muse.  Stamp sets are By the Tide and Wetlands (sentiment).  Embossing folder is Woodgrain.  Punches use were, Oval and 3/4" Circle.  Linen Thread was used as faux netting in the corners.  The hardest part is doing the fussy cutting on here.  I used Glue Dots to adhere the Linen Thread with, I cut them in half and then rolled each piece so it would fit under the knots.

Since blue is my favorite color and really like this card and I hope he does too!  Mary

Hardwood, You're Lovely

Today I want to share with you another card made with the background stamp, Hardwood.  I paired it up with the You're Lovely stamp set that available until March 31, 2014.

This time I used the Deco Label Framelits to cut out the area for the stamp.  I used stamping dimensional and applied them to the front of my stamped image and stuck that to the backside of my Hardwood stamped front.  I also used the Petite Petals stamp and punch and added them to the front to add some interest.  I used Very Vanilla card stock and inked up the Hardwood stamp with Versa Mark, then embossed it with clear embossing powder.  I sponged on Tempting Turquoise and Crumb Cake.  I used those same inks for my flowers too.  A blender pen was used to color in the stamped image.  Crumb Cake is my card base.  Oh, I also used Six-Sided Sampler, for the hello sweet friend.

Very simple card and I really like how it turned out too!  Thanks for stopping in to see me!  Mary

Blessed Easter Card in a Box

Today I'm sharing a card that is made into a box.  Are you wondering what I'm talking about?  You take your card stock and with a few measurements and score lines you have a box that folds up and fits inside a regular size envelope and when the recipient opens the card it opens into a box with stamped images that stand up.  It is all the rage right now in the card making world.  I found my directions and a video on France Martin's blog HERE.  I will admit they do take some time to make, but they make a big impression too!

I have two aunts with upcoming birthdays, so I made two right away, one in Pistachio Pudding and one in Pool Party.  I used Blessed Easter, Label Love, Papillon Potpourri and Petite Pairs stamp sets.  Markers used were Blushing Bride, Pool Party, So Saffron, Pear Pizzazz and Black Stazon.  Punches were Elegant and Bitty Butterfly, and Artisan Label.  DSP is Sweet Sorbet.  Card stock is Whisper White, Pistachio Pudding and Pool Party.

I hope you give this a try, they are work but they are fun to make and send too!  Mary

Hardwood

Happy Valentine's Day!!  I hope you all have a great day celebrating with your favorite person too!

I'm going to share a card with you today made with the background stamp, Hardwood.  When I first saw this in the Occasion catalog, I was thinking, "why do I need another wood grain product"?  After seeing how some of the demonstrators have used it with different color for the background color, I changed my mind.  Now I'm on the fence with this card.  The flag color is Tempting Turquoise, but it doesn't look like it.  I used Crumb Cake card stock to emboss the image with clear embossing powder.  Then I used the ink colors of Crumb Cake and Tempting Turquoise to sponge the image.  Now as I was sponge on my colors, I picked up, by accident, some Real Red off my grid paper.  So if you see some pink on this, that is why.  Who knew?!

I used the Deco Labels to cut out the You're Lovely stamp and then cut out a Crumb Cake one to layer underneath it.  Color the flowers with a blender pen and added some pearls.

So it's not the best but I still like that background stamp, will try it again with a different color.

Thanks for stopping by and have a piece of chocolate for me too!  Mary

Regarding Dahlias

Well, I'm all done with making Valentine's Day cards, I really don't send too many out.

I've been wanting this stamp set for some time, I've seen a lot of pretty cards made with it too.  So you will be seeing this one pop back in from time to time!

I used the Regarding Dahlias stamp set for my friend, Linda's birthday.  We went out and had a very nice breakfast together, my treat, and I also gifted her some of the cards that you have seen on my blog.  She was thrilled to receive them too!  Doing a happy dance!!

I used Bermuda Bay ink and card stock along with 1/8" Taffeta ribbon and Whisper White card stock.  Some Basic Pearls for some bling too.  I flipped the card front over and made a score line on either side of the ribbon for some interest too.

That is my simple card for today.  Thanks for stopping by,  Mary
