Happy Birthday Justin

Well this month is almost over, man where has the time gone?!  Today I'm going to share the card that I made for my future son-in-law!  His birthday fell on Mother's day this year.  Oh, are dinner with his parents went very well and we really like them, they are so nice!  Denise is very lucky to have them as her future in-laws.

As you all know I struggle with making cards for guys, don't know why but I do.  I hope he didn't think it was too childish for him, but the gift inside was appreciate though!  I used an embossing folder from Stampin' Up! that has hearts on it, after I had embossed it I used my Simply Score to add the lines above and below the embossing.  Used the Cupcake Builder punch (this punch really makes it easy to add that something extra to the card).  Punched out a circle and a scalloped circle and added a few pieces of scrap ribbon (see those scraps come in handy)!  Card stock I used is Crumb Cake, Whisper White and Night of Navy.

Well, thank you for taking the time to drop in to see me, I appreciate it so much!             Mary

Bella, in Punch Art Form

Today I want to share with you the card that we sent to our vet who was helping us with Bella when she was sick.  Our vet came to her office, on a Sunday night, to help us.  We so appreciated her giving the time to us when we really needed her help!

I used non-Stampin' Up! dies to make this card, the rest of the card is product from Stampin' Up!

Recipe:

Card stock: Pink Pirouette, Pool Party, Basic Black, Pretty In Pink, Chocolate Chip
Ink: Black Staz-on
Designer Series Paper: Twitterpated
Pearls
White gel pen
Dimensionals

My daughter saw the vet a couple days after she had received her card and she told Kelly that it made her cry.  That was Bay-bay, everyone who knew her loved her!

Hope you are having a great day too,    Mary

Ribbon Lace Cards

Hello everyone!  Sorry I was gone for awhile, it has been busy around here with losing Bella and then working on the wedding invites.  I've got all the response cards printed, cut and stamped and even stamped on the envelope too, so that is one less thing on the to-do list, it is getting shorter.  Now on to the thank you cards for wedding gifts.

The cards in the picture above are two that I made after watching a video made by Frances Martin, you can view it HEREOnce you get the hang of it, they are very easy to make.  The one on the right is one that I gave to my mom for Mother's day, yes, these pictures have been sitting on my camera for awhile!  Everything is from Stampin' Up!

Recipe:

Stamp set: Just Believe
Card stock: Pink Pirouette, Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry
Ribbon: Pretty In Pink, Whisper White
Pearl
Brad from Sale-A-Bration
Ink: Pretty In Pink, Certainly Celery

I hope you are all enjoying this Memorial Day week-end too.  Hubby and I celebrated our 33rd wedding anniversary last night, we went to a friends wedding!  Have a great crafty week-end!    Mary

Good-bye Sweet Bella

Today was again a very sad day at our house.  We had to make that painful decision to say good-bye to our cute little Parti-Color Cocker Spaniel, Bella.  She has been sick since Thursday (totally out of nowhere) and losing ground everyday.  Darn we so wanted to have more than just three short years with her but we do know that those three years were the best she ever had: love, care, food and doggy companionship and humans that totally loved her!  Bella was only nine, we think, not knowing for sure when she was born.  Our favorite memories are of watching her shoot out of the house like a bullet, keeping up with the labs, which by the way, she was not a cocker, she really thought she was a lab, just like the big kids!  Her coming to me every morning wanting me to pick her up and "love" on her, and her laying in my arms, like a baby, and letting me rub her tummy!  My husband is totally lost, Bella had him wrapped around her little paw and we teased him about how much he spoiled her.  Hopefully we erased all the bad memories of being a puppy mill dog.  So go love on your pets today and tell them how much you love them!

RAK Card for Teenager

Hi everyone, hope your day is going well, I'm off to work today so it is going great too!

I had so much fun stamping and color this image for another card that I made, you can see that one HERE, that I made another one to send to a teenager who is recovering from a car accident.  Boy, if you think making a card is hard when for a man, try making one for a male teenager!  I hope he likes it and that he is doing better by now too!  This time I left off the flowers and added some bakers twine and also embossed the background to add some texture to it.

Well, this is my share for today, hope you have a great rest of the week too!   Mary

Ink: Marina Mist and Black Staz-on
Framelits Label dies

Candle Holders Using a Big Shot and Dies

Good Monday morning to all of you! Hope you had a great week-end.

Now on to the post.  I've seen these cute little candle holders for the last couple of years on the Internet and have always wanted to try making some, so why not do it right before you leave to go on your mini vacation, like the night before!  Yep, I just had to make some the night before we left because my daughter was coming into town to dog sit for us and I wanted to show her these.  Maybe for the reception table, but they maybe too small but they were easy, fast and fun to make.  I found this video over on Stamping with Frenchie.  Now of course you need to be very careful when working with the flashing so you don't cut yourself but after it has been cut out with the die, it doesn't seem to be sharp anymore!  You see the smaller flower that is purple?  I used some spray paint to see what would happen and it worked just fine.  After cutting out the flowers, I put each section into an embossing folder to add some texture.  The die that I used is from Stampin' Up! and it is called, Flower Folds and the embossing folder is called Perfect Polka Dots.

Oh since I was in a hurry I just used glue dots to hold them together but you probably should use hot glue or whatever Frenchie recommends in her video.

Thanks for dropping in to see me, I enjoy vour visits!                     Mary

Happy Birthday Kelly

Hi everyone, hope your Wednesday is going great!  I'm finally all caught up things that one normally has after a trip and now it's back to work.

As you know Sunday was my oldest daughter's birthday, she turned 29, which is so hard to believe that she is that age!  Kids have a way of making their parents older with every birthday that they celebrate!  Now she is a huge dog lover, image that, lol, wonder where she inherited that from?  So I always try to make her card with a dog on it.  I found this stamp on SCS buy/sell forum and knew she would love this image.  Now it is not a SU stamp but I just could not resist that cute expression on this pups face, what attitute it has, almost like she is saying, "look at the stupid things I have to wear for my human"!
The paper and ribbon is from Stampin' Up!
Now I'm having problems with Blogger, love it when they make changes and don't tell you!  So this post may be all over the place until I can get my browser updated, but I did want to share this with all of you.  Thanks for stopping by to see me!   Mary

Canine Capers RAK card

Well we are starting off a new week and my other daughter had her birthday yesterday! Yes, both daughters are spring babies (see why I love spring so much!) My husbands birthday was on the 18th, so April is a busy birthday month for our family. Poor me, mine is in December! Hubby and I will be returning today on the train after a long week-end get away to Chicago. He has been wanting to take me there for a long time, so he decided this past week-end was a good time and off we went! Now onto the card. This card is going to a little six year old girl who is in the hospital with Cystic Fibrosis. The lady who posted the card request stated that the little girl loves purple (so does one of my daughters) and she likes dogs (my kind of girl!) So I went through my stamps sets and came upon this retired set called Canine Capers!! I think this one will fill the dog request and I had so much fun coloring in the dogs with markers and also using my blender pen on the little curly dog in front! This card just made me so happy and was so cute in real life, I hope she enjoys it and can feel the love that I sent with it! I also added some punched BoHo flowers with a few pearls added. The leaves are from the Blossom Petals Builder punch.

All products are Stampin Up!
