Peaceful Wreath

Here is a new Christmas card that I want to share with you.  This one is using some of the November 2015 Paper Pumpkin kit!  I belong to a Facebook group where others share their ideas and creations that they make with their monthly kits.  So many talents artists and so sharing too.

For this one I used the card base, the ink spot (Cherry Cobbler) and the stamp that was in the kit.  Then I used my Peaceful Wreath for the focal point of this card.  The ribbon is retired from a couple years ago, but I have so much left that I want to use it.  Then I took some of the Burlap ribbon and pulled out four strands for behind the sentiment.

Newborn King #2

Hi, once again I'm sharing this nice stamp set with you.  Yes, it is retired, but since I like it, I'm going to use it!

As you can see, I just highlighted the Manager scene.  This involved way less coloring but places the main focus on the reason for Christmas!  I used my Circle Framelits to cut out the Whisper White card stock and the Gold Glimmer paper.  Then I just cut a strip for under the Manager scene and added a simple gold Baker's Twine bow.  Oh, I did use the Woodgrain Embossing Folder too.

Newborn King

Well I've started on my Christmas cards, so get ready to see lots for awhile, at least until I get them all made anyway!

This is a stamp set from last year's Holiday Catalog called Newborn King.  I wanted to make a couple so here is one that I came up with.

I used Whisper White card stock and Gold Glimmer paper, along with various markers to color in the image.  I also use a couple sponges and Soft Sky and Old Olive ink pads to add some sky and ground too.  It did take some time to color but I do like how it turned out too!  I used Black StaZon ink for the image.

Q & A from Stamping Up:

Q: Will you order more retiring products if we run out before the end of the catalog sales period?

A: Our intent is always to have products for the entire sales period, though occasionally products perform better than anticipated. If seasonal products (except stamps) can be ordered and received in time for the holiday for which they were designed, we will order more. Otherwise, items on the retiring list will be sold only while supplies last. In the North American market, stamps are guaranteed to be available until one week before the catalog sales period ends. After that time, they will be available only while supplies last.

Q: Why doesn't Stampin' Up! just order more products when inventory is low?

A: Purchase order lead time (or the time it takes to get products from the point of ordering to the point of delivery) can take 60 days or more. Because of this, we don't always have sufficient time to get products to our warehouse before the catalog sales period ends.

Q: When an item is listed on the Retiring List, does that automatically mean that we have low inventory of that item?

A: No.

Q: Why is the list called "Retiring List" and not "Retired List"?

A: "Retired List" suggests that the products are already retired. "Retiring List" correctly denotes that the products on the list are not yet (but are soon to be) retired and will not carry over to the next catalog.

Q: Why did Stampin' Up! change the retiring product policy for seasonal catalogs?

A: During the past several months, Stampin' Up! has been aligning programs and processes to provide as much consistency in our offerings as possible. As part of this effort, we are now providing a retiring list for all of our catalogs (not just the annual catalog).

Pet Sympathy Card

Hi everyone, been missing for awhile, was on Jury Duty for two weeks!  Yes, two weeks and I'm so glad that it is done, but I did meet some very nice people while serving too.  One of the ladies got some sad news that her kitty had to be put down, so I made this card and mailed it off to her.

I used the retired C is for Cat for the image and sentiment.  The Designer Series Paper is retired Watercolor, card stock is Smoky Slate, Whisper White and Crumb Cake.  I used the Hearth & Home Thinlits and the Happy Scenes also.
