Love & Sympathy

Well I've fallen behind on my Christmas card making.  I needed another birthday card for one of my client who's 90th birthday was Tuesday.  This lady loves to be out in the yard working and still mows her own lawn!  She inspires me to exercise and stay healthy!  So I made another card using the Corner Garden background stamp like the one HERE.  I did use different colors for this latest one.  I hope she liked it.

Well sometimes in life we need sympathy cards and that was the case for me earlier in the week.  My deceased cousins' husband passed away, so I needed to send a card to his daughter.  Bill was a great guy and we always enjoyed visiting with him and my cousin when we could, they lived in Omaha.  After my cousin passed away, Bill took really good care of my aunt and did a lot of things for her, I'm sure she will really miss him too.

Here is the card that I sent.  It is simple but I think elegant and I think the deep blue is a good color for a masculine sympathy card.

Here is what I used:
Card stock: Crumb Cake, Pear Pizzazz, Midnight Muse (retired), Very Vanilla
Ink: Pear Pizzazz, Early Espresso and Night of Navy
Honeycomb Embossing Folder
Linen Thread

Well, this is all for today, I hope to be back soon to see you all.  Mary

Love and Sympathy

Good day to all, I hope your week is off to a great start.

I found out the other day that one of our neighbors had recently loss her mother, so I went straight to the craft room to make a quick card to send to her.

I used my "go to" set, Love & Sympathy.  I like the simple image and also the beautiful verse for the inside.  For this one I used Whisper White and Blackberry Bliss card stock.  Since I don't have the In-Color markers, I used Rich Razzleberry for the flower color and Old Olive for the stem.  I felt it needed just a little bit more, so I inked up the splatter dots from Gorgeous Grunge with Soft Sky, stamped off, and then stamped it on top of the flower image.  I used the sentiment from Bloom with Hope.  The pearls I colored with my Rich Razzleberry Blendabilities and used the retired Rich Razzleberry 1/4" ribbon to anchor the flower with.  Very simple and quick to make too!

Thanks for stopping by.  Mary

Love and Sympathy, Remake

Hi to all of you!  I hope you have been going around to all of the blogs who are participating in the LNS Treasure Hunt Fall 2013.  You know anyone can play and as more demonstrators sign on the prize will increase in size too!  You can see the list of blogs HERE.

Now onto my cards for today.  I did a card like this back in July of 2012, you can see it HERE.  I decided to update it with two of the new colors, Soft Sky and Blushing Bride.  My daughter called me on Friday and requested a sympathy card for herself, one of her friends lost her mother.  So I pulled out this stamp set because I like how simple it is and for its beautiful sentiment for the inside.

I used every stamp that is in this set for this card, it really is a good value and I like how the inks and card stocks all go together so well!  The Designer Series paper is from the new paper stacks that Stampin' Up! updated this year, love the patterns that are in each stack.  I used the Decorative Label and Dotted Scallop Ribbon punches.  Then I added a few pearls to dress it up some, I love how soft and pretty they turned out.

Wednesday I will share a man's sympathy card with you, my husband's former co-worker's wife passed away last week also, so he needs one.

Thanks for stopping in to see me, I appreciate it so much!  Mary

Hi everyone!  Did you have a nice holiday week-end?  We stayed home and did some work around the house, trying to get rid of some unused items.

This is a card that I made to send to a friend who just recently lost his wife to cancer.  Nasty cancer, I wish they could find away to get rid of it.  I wanted to keep the card real simple and I like how it turned out.  I wanted it to look antique.
