Christmas in July Suite Seasons

Hey everyone, I'm back again with another Christmas in July.   I promise not to do the whole month of August with Christmas cards too, I will sprinkle a few here and there as I feel the need to add some more for my Christmas card list.

This card was CASE'D from Allison Okamitsu who is on the Artistian Design Team which is made up of Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the Globe!  While her card used a different stamp set, she used one I didn't have, I knew I could use the rest of her design to make this card, which was fairly simple to make!

Here is what I used:

Stamps: Suite Seasons
Markers: Real Red and Always Artichoke
Card stock: Thick Whisper White, Real Red
Designer Series Paper: Warmth & Cheer-retired
Metallic Foil Doilies
Baker's Twine-retired

Thank you for stopping by and I hope your Monday is off to a great start!  Mary

Christmas In July Tin of Tags

Onward with my Christmas card making.  So far I've got half of my cards done, WOOHOO!!  Even if I don't get them all done before September, at least I have a good start on them and won't feel so rushed now in November or December to get the rest done!  I will continue sprinkling some Christmas cards in, here and there.

I based this card on one I saw by Eileen Mathys, not a full CASE, as I did change a few items from what she shared.

Here is what I did for this card.

Stamps: Music Sheet and Tin of Tags-retired
Card stock: Real Red and Very Vanilla
Ink: Black Memento
Framelits: Stitched Circle, Star and Banner, both of which are retired
Holly Textured Impression Embossing Folder
Red Glimmer paper
Gold Foil paper

Well this is all for this week, I will continue on into August for a day or so, then get back into making other types of cards, the most important one is a birthday card for my grandson, who is turning 2!!

Thanks,  Mary

Herb Expressions

A quick share today.  I needed a thank you card and pulled out this stamp set to send to a friend who is teaching me about Essential Oils.  I used the note cards that Stampin' Up! sells and this card was done in 15 minutes!!

I also used Wisteria Wonder card stock and Stampin' Write marker to color in the lavender with and then Pear Pizzaz writer too.

See I told you quick!  Thanks for coming and seeing me.  Mary

Christmas In July Baby Bear

Well, my plans got derailed a bit with making Christmas cards in July, but have plans to start up again!  I just got too busy to go into the craft room and stamp, "gasp"!!

So lets get on with this.  I decide to use this cute stamp set called Baby Bear.  Once again I saw this idea on a demonstrator Facebook page, but no name was given with the picture.

I stamp the opposite of what the stamp set tells you, I stamp #3 first, then #2, then #1 last.  I did fussy cut the bear out, but it is not hard at all.

Here is what I used:

Stamp sets: Baby Bear and Christmas Pines (for the sentiment)
Card stock: Thick Whisper White, Whisper White, Real Red, Always Artichoke and Pear Pizzazz
Inks: Crumb Cake for #1, Soft Suede for #2, Early Espresso for #3
Punch: Santa Hat-retired
Thinlits: Pretty Pines-green behind the bear
Dynamic Textured Impressions embossing folder: Cable Knit
Baker's Twine: Real Red-retired

Thank you for coming to see my creation!  Mary

Christmas In July, Santa's Sleigh

Well, I've had these negative pieces from these die cuts laying in my craft room for almost a year, couldn't stand the thought of throwing them out, I mean, these were still good pieces of Silver Glimmer Paper, lol!!

So I decided to emboss the retired Mint Macaroon with the Holly Embossing folder to add some interest to the background.  I mounted the negative cut out onto some Flirty Flamingo card stock, not too bad, but after taking the picture, hmmm, needs something else, but I can't figure out what, any suggestions!  So I only use two, will make something else with the four remaining that I have.  Will share those in the future.

The sentiment is from the same stamp set, stamped using Memento Black ink.  Thinlits are called, Santa's Sleigh Thinlits.

You can see the card I made using the positive cut HERE.

Thanks for coming by, I appreciate it!!  Mary

Christmas In July, Holly Berry Happiness

Well, I'm on a roll, four down and many more to go!

I bought this stamp set last year along with the coordinating punch, Holly Berry Builder.  It is really a nice set to have.

I saw a card like this one on the demonstrator Facebook page last year, I didn't see a watermark with the name of the creator, but I was inspired by her card.  I did change a few things to make it my own.

The card base is Sahara Sand, with a leftover strip of Cherry Cobble behind the embossed card front to add a bit of color.  The embossing folder is Softly Falling.  I did use the retired Red Metallic Thread behind the sentiment.  The holly berries are punched out of Red Glimmer paper scrap, the Holly leaves were stamp on Always Artichoke card stock with the same color of ink.  The sentiment is embossed in Gold, then punched out with the retired Washi Label punch, which is mounted on a scarp piece of Cherry Cobbler.

Another simple Christmas card, so now onto another one.  Thanks for coming by......Mary

Christmas In July, Lovely As A Tree

Well, I'm a week late getting my Christmas In July going, so I will continue you into August if I have too, lol!  This year I'm determine to get my Christmas cards done earlier than waiting until November to start them, now if I can just continue :).

The card I'm sharing today was one that was shared by Maureen on the demonstrators Facebook page last year.  While I didn't totally CASE her card, I did use it as a starting point.  Of course, I used one of my favorite sets, Lovely As A Tree!

I used the Layering Oval Framelits to cut out the oval from copy paper for my mask for sponging the background and also to stamp the two smaller trees.  Then I removed the mask and stamp a tree as a focal point.

For the sponging, I used Soft Sky, Marina Mist and Always Artichoke inks.  The addition of Always Artichoke was a total mistake, but once I sat back and looked at it, I really liked what it added to the background!  For the tree, I used Always Artichoke and my Soft Suede marker to fill in the trunk.  Sentiment is stamped in Memento Black ink.  For the snow I used my retired Two-way glue pen and then sprinkled some Dazzling Diamonds, so pretty.

Now I need to get busy and make some more cards to share with you, until then, I hope you have a wonderful day.  Mary

Daisy Punch and Bundle

The Daisy Punch is on backorder again. Extraordinarily, the demand for this punch has not died down at all; in fact, this is Stampin' Up!'s highest selling punch in the last five years.
The next order of punches will arrive at the Stampin' Up! warehouse on approximately August 1, 2017. Because of the very high cost of taking backorders and the amount of time until the next order arrives, Stampin' Up! will be making the Daisy Punch and the Daisy Punch bundles temporarily unorderable beginning Friday, July 7, at 8:00 AM (MT).

Best Birds

I've had this stamp set and thinlits for awhile and decided to pull them off the table and make something with them.  Here is what I made!

I was so pleased with how it came out!  I colored the bird image in with my Watercolor Pencils and Aqua Painter.  I stamped the branch image onto a piece of Watercolor paper and also used the Watercolor pencils on it too.  The coordinating Birds & Blooms Thinlits was used to cut out the bird image.  Before I mounted my bird to the paper, I used a stamp in Sahara Sand to stamp the cross-hatching, then added some Gold Metallic thread to add just a bit more interest.  The sentiment is stamped in Soft Suede.  Then I mounted it onto a piece of Marina Mist.

Thank you to coming by and I hope you have a great day tomorrow too!  Mary
