Thinking of You Card 2011, #2

Good day to everyone, hope your day if off to a good start.

The card I'm sharing today is one that I made for my friend, Esther. She had one of her knee's replaced last week and I wanted to send her a card to let her know I'm thinking about her and to wish her a speedy recovery too.

I semi-followed Stamping 411 sketch, #204. You can see the sketch by clicking HERE .

It sure does help making a card alot easier sometimes, especially when you have had little sleep because one of your dogs is afraid of thunderstorms, not that I would know about that at all, lol!

All Stampin' Up products used, here is the recipe:

Stamp sets- Herb Expressions, Teeny Tiny Wishes

card stock- Almost Amethyst, Certainly Celery, Whisper White

designer series paper- subtles collection

ribbon- Certainly Celery

Markers- Certainly Celery, Lavender Lace

pearls

Thanks for stopping by to see my latest creation, have a crafty day...............Mary

Strength & Hope

Hey everyone, how are you all doing? It is on the chilly side here and no sun either, it is very dreary here this week-end.

Today's card is one that came together very quickly, for me anyway, which is always nice. I think it only took about 15 minutes to make. This card was mailed as a "thinking about you" for a card request over on Splitcoaststampers. This stamp set is offered by Stampin' Up and every set that is order, they donate $2.00 to the Breast Cancer Research Fund. Since my mother is a breast cancer survivor, I really wanted to support this.

All supplies are from Stampin' Up. I made the color block on the embossed background with my clear acrylic block "D" with Pretty In Pink ink, makes for a fast background. Than stamped the words in Regal Rose ink. Butterfly has pearls on it for the body, as well as, dazzling diamond glitter, it was stamped in Regal Rose ink also. I popped it up on a dimensional, lightly sponged the embossed area and added a Pretty In Pink ribbon.

Thanks for stopping in to see me and I would love to hear from you too........Mary

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's day to all of you who are moms. I hope you have a day filled with alot of love, laughter and fun!

This is the card that I made to give to my mother this year. She made the comment one time, "don't wait until I die to give me flowers, because I won't be able to enjoy them", so every year I give her a card with flowers on it and also a flowering plant of some kind that she can plant in her yard and put out on her patio to enjoy all summer.

The supplies that I used for this card are all Stampin' Up, the stamp I used is a retire one.

Thanks for taking time out of your busy day to visit with me, hope you have a crafty day...Mary

Happy Birthday

Happy Friday everyone! It is nice and sunny here today, just a perfect spring day all around.

The card I'm sharing today is going to a young man who is in the military, serving overseas. His sister put out a request for birthday cards for him, he was recently home for two weeks and was sad that he had to go back again, so she thought some unexpected birthday cards would help to cheer him up. I put a post-it note on the inside and told him to re-use the card, if he wanted to do that. I inked up my acrylic block and stamped onto a piece of white card stock, with different ink colors, than ran it thru my Big Kick and the square lattice embossing folder.

Recipe:

Card stock; Whisper White, So Saffron & Marina Mist
Ink/Markers; Early Espresso, Marina Mist, Real Red, So Saffron & Creamy Caramel
Stamp set; Bring On the Cake
Acrylic Block-B
Embossing Folder-Square Lattice
adhesive
Brads-other source

Hope your day is going great and that you all have a wonderful weekend too..............Mary

Happy May Day!

Happy May Day!!

Did any of you, as a child, make May Day baskets?? When I was a child, we made ours out of folded paper napkins and with the help of a turned over water glass, we worked our magic to make little baskets that would hold some candy. Than with great excitement we would go through out the neighborhood, ringing doorbells and either hide in the bushes or run like heck before they answered the door! It still brings a smile to my face to this day to remember how much fun we had and to see the happy smiles on our friends and neighbors faces as they realized that they had a little gift from a secret friend! Do people still do this type of thing anymore?

For my hanging basket, I used Stampin' Up! petal cone die, Whisper White card stock (sponged lightly with Pretty In Pink ink) and the small bits of green are from using the Two-Step Bird punch.

Pink card stock, brad, daisy die, ribbon where from other sources

Why not surprise someone today with a small token of friendship and see how happy it makes them! I hope you all have a day of surprises and a crafty one too....................Mary
