Swirly Bird and Swirly Scribble

Well as promised here is another card today using the Swirly Bird and Swirly Scribbles bundle.  I found my inspiration from Stampin' Up!  They have this picture on their website showing it as a box but when I saw it I thought card, so that's what I did, I made a card!

Now here is my card that I made.

I pretty much copied the whole thing except that I changed the sentiment because I didn't really need another thank you card.

My card base is Sweet Sugarplum,  then Whisper White.  I then used the circles to stamp with, Flirty Flamingo, Pool Party, Sweet Sugarplum and Crushed Curry.  I then layered the swirl scribbles on top of each circle and then stamped the leaves and cut them out in Emerald Envy.  I made a oversized banner and used the Thoughtful Banner stamp set and choose the words I wanted to use and stamp with Dapper Denim.  A small scrap of Crumb Cake is behind that, then a small scrap of Flirty Flamingo that was stamped with the splatter stamp was added too, with a small piece of Linen Thread tied in a bow and attached to the front.

I like how my card turned out, so pretty and the colors all go together so well too.  Mary

Swirly Bird

I wanted a chance to showcase this great bundle again, well for the next couple of days.  This bundle has so many possibilities for card making and for decorating some 3-D projects too.

I found a card made by Connie Collins using this idea.  Connie used the Botanical Builder Framelits to make her flower for her card but I wanted to try using the little flowers that are in the Swirly Bird set instead.  Here is what I came up with.

For the background I used the Softly Falling embossing folder, it really adds some nice interest to the background without competing with the main images.  Then I used the various thinlits that are in the Swirly Scribbles set.  I used Island Indigo for my card base, then Whisper White.  For the long scribble I used Soft Suede, for the circle scribble I used Sahara Sand.  Then for the small flowers I used So Saffron, Island Indigo and Blushing Bride, the leaves are Pear Pizzazz and Old Olive.  The sentiment is from Thoughtful Banners, another good one to have in your stamping room!

I'm sending this one off to one of my customers for placing a order with me.

Come back by Wednesday and see how I used this set again.  Mary

Swirly Bird

I thought I would get out my new stamp set, Swirly Scribbles and framelits, Swirly Bird and make another birthday card.

I may have made the bottom part of the sea alittle bit too dark, must be getting ready to storm :).  Oh well, it still is a good "guy" card, even for a small guy!

I sponged on Dapper Denim for the bottom part, then some Marina Mist and then finished off with Soft Sky.  I cut the "waves from the Dapper Denim card stock.  The sailboat colors are Crushed Curry, Marina Mist, Soft Suede and Real Red, which stamped and fussy cut out.  The sun is Crushed Curry and So Saffron.  My sentiment is from Build A Birthday, that was stamped in Memento Black.  The card base is Marina Mist and I used Whisper White for the main panel.

I highly recommend investing in this set/bundle, you will use it a lot!

Have a great week-end!  Mary
