Bear Hugs

I had a request from my daughter for a one year old birthday card with an outdoor theme.  So I put on my thinking cap and and scanned Pinterest too.  If you remember, last year I made my Dad's birthday card using this set, you can see it HERE.  I used the same colors on this card too!

I hurried to make this card for her because I will be out of town next week, visiting my daughter.  Hubby will be home and holding down the fort!  Anyway, I was just getting done and she called and said she was coming by to pick up some items we had for her, one hour early, so I didn't get a picture of the inside to share with you this time.  When I gave it to her, she loved it and said the parents would really like it too!

To get the background of the trees, I lightly dragged my Crumb Cake ink pad over the embossing folder, run through the Big Shot, and when done, rinse the embossing folder off with water and dry.

Here is what I used:

Stamp sets: Number of Years and Bear Hugs-retired
Framelits: Large Number and Bear Hugs-retired
Card stock: Dapper Denim, Whisper White, Crumb Cake
Inks: Craft Whisper White, Crumb Cake
SU Markers: Crumb Cake, Dapper Denim, Calypso Coral and Always Artichoke
Linen Thread
Embossing Folder: Woodland

Thanks for coming by,  Mary

From Land to Sea

The card I'm sharing is going to my uncle who lives in Iowa.  Over the Labor Day weekend he will be going on the Freedom Flight and people who know him were asked to send him a letter or a card to let them know how special he is to us.  I mailed this card to his daughter, who will be picking him up at the airport, and they will give him all the cards and letters that were sent to him!  He is going to be so surprised!  Click on the picture to enlarge it.

I got this stamp set right before the retirement list came out, but was still happy to have it, because it makes a great man card!  I did see a card like this on Pinterest, I CASE'd Tracie St-Louis for this card..  I did change it very slightly.  I did fussy cut the Sea Turtles out and popped them up on Dimensionals.  Seeing the picture, it looks like I could have sponged the Soft Sky a bit more.

Stamp set: From Watercolor Wash, Land to Sea and By The Tide-both are retired
Card stock: Shimmery White, Marina Mist and Early Espresso
Inks: Soft Sky, Marina Mist, Old Olive, Pear Pizzazz, Always Artichoke, Early Espresso and Crumb Cake
Staz-On Black

Sponges

Thanks for dropping in, I so appreciate you visiting my blog!  Mary

Beautiful Ride

Hi everyone, I hope you had a great day to the start of your week, mine is off and running!

Remember not to look at the eclipse today unless you have your special glasses and don't stare at it for the whole time either!

Todays card that I'm sharing is going to my cousin's daughter, she will be getting married next month, so I made her two cards, one from hubby and me and other one, which I will share Wednesday, from my Dad.

I pulled out a retired stamp set called Beautiful Ride.  Yup, it is a set that I kept after it retired.  I've had the "beetle" cut out for probably over a year and it has been laying on the craft table waiting it's turn to be used on a card!

Here is the inside of the card too!

I really like how it turned out and I hope they enjoy the card!

Stamp sets: Sheltering Tree and Beautiful Ride-retired
Card stock: Whisper White, Marina Mist and Watercolor paper for the "beetle"
Inks: Soft Sky, Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive, Crumb Cake and Early Espresso
Markers- various colors and various colors for the "beetle"

This card took awhile to make, but it was also fun building the scene too!

Thanks for dropping by, see you again on Wednesday!  Mary

Tranquil Tulips Thank You

Well I'm here, just alittle bit late in posting, was busy yesterday doing other things around the house.  Saturday night, I went to my 45th High School Reunion, GASP!!  I can't be that old, can I??!!

On to the card.  I found this card at Tracy Gray's blog and she found it at Erica Cerwin's blog, either way, it is a beautiful card and I wanted to make one.  I did change it up a bit, but I was inspire by both of them!  I made two cards, which I do anytime I make a card, so one is a Thank You and one is for my friend, so a Friend card.  I did fussy cut the tulips out for this card, but you could easily arrange your flowers so you don't have to do that.

Here is what I used:

Stamp sets: Tranquil Tulips and Beautiful Bouquet
Card stock: Thick Whisper White, Sweet Sugarplum
Inks: Sweet Sugarplum and Old Olive
DSP: Color Theory
Scallop Oval
Stitched Ovals
Sweet Sugarplum ribbon-retired

Off to do some more cards, need to make a few more for the upcoming auction!  Mary

Vertical Greetings

Well the weekend is finally here.  I have a non-Christmas card to share with all of you today.

I've had this stamp set for awhile and was decided to pull it out and make a quick card to share with you.  As I have shared in the past, each year I make some cards up to give to the assisted living facility where my daughter works.  They have all kinds of items donated to them and then they hold a auction where anyone can place a bid.  All monies raised are then donated to the Alzheimer's Association!  Last year my donation helped raise $50.00!!

To get a two-tone effect on the greenery, I colored in with Pear Pizzazz marker and then "thumped" over it with my Old Olive marker.  The stems were color in with my Crumb Cake marker.

Here is what I used for this card:

Stamp set: Vertical Greetings and Timeless Textures
Card stock: Thick Whisper White, Whisper White and Cajun Craze
Ink: Cajun Craze
Stampin' Write Markers: Crumb Cake, Pear Pizzazz and Old Olive
Linen Thread
Glue Dot

I'm off to finish making another card, hope you come back soon too!  Have a great weekend!  Mary

Christmas In July, Winter Wishes

Hi everyone, I'm so glad you decided to come to my craft room today to see what I have to share with you!

Earlier I shared with you a card I made using the negative image made with the Santa Sleigh Thinlits.  Well I had four more of those images and I really didn't want to throw away this glimmer paper, so here is another card that I came up with to use two of those with.

I like the warm, rustic feel to this card and it would be a good one for a single guy on your Christmas card list!  Here is what I used,

Stamp sets: Hardwood and Winter Wishes-retired
Inks: Crumb Cake and Soft Suede
Card stock: Garden Green, Real Red and Crumb Cake
Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper
Warmth & Cheer DSP-retired
Santa Sleigh Thinlits
Cable Knit Embossing Folder

I'll be back on Friday with one more Christmas card, then off to making something new, I hope you have a great day!  Mary
