Walk In The Wild

I needed a "thinking of you" card to send to my son-in-law dad.  While on vacation he had chest pain and had to have surgery.  Yup, he is in a hospital in Florida and will not be able to come home for at least two weeks!  The only good thing is, is that they have friends where they are at, so they do have some help close by.

I pulled out my retired set, Walk in the Wild, to make a quick card to send to him and to let him know that we are praying for him and his wife.  I hope that he is improving each day.

This is a pretty quick card to put together.  I stamped the image with Early Espresso ink, than too the swoosh image from Gorgeous Grunge to add Old Olive, Crumb Cake and Soft Sky.  I added a strip of Crumb Cake card stock that I use the Chevron embossing folder-retired-SU, to add some interest to it.  I wrapped some Linen Thread around the card front and tied it in a knot.  The card stock I used is Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla and Soft Sky.

I hope Gerry is healing and feeling better by the time my card reaches him.  Mary

Botanicals For You

Good Friday morning I hope your day is going well.

Today I want to share with you a card that I found on Pinterest.  I CASE'd this card that Tracy Elsom had shared and it is just beautiful.  I used products that are in the new Occasions Catalog.  I must admit that at first I was not going to get the Botanical DSP, framelits or stamps, but after seeing so many pretty projects and cards, I went ahead and got it.  This card is so much prettier than what my picture show you.

I used the following:
Botanical Blooms stamp set
Botanical Gardens Designer Series paper
Botanical Builder Framelits Dies
Botanicals For You stamp set
Mossy Meadow, Cajun Craze, Old Olive and Hello Honey card stock
Old Olive ink
VersaMark ink
Gold Embossing Powder

Have a great week-end.  Mary

Paper Pumpkin

Today I'm going to share two cards that I made with two different Paper Pumpkin kits.  I'm way behind in putting some of my kits together and decided the other day to make a couple cards with a few.  I still have plenty of items in each kit to make at least 12 more cards.  I can follow the kit directions or go out on my own with the supplies I have left.

This one is from last year, I really don't remember the month, but this kit had three boxes included with it and cut-out for flowers to put on the boxes along with some ribbon.  I added the Petite Petal flowers, pearls and gold glimmer paper to this kit and use my Smoky Slate for the sentiment.

This one is from this month, it has a really cute font for the sentiments and three little flower stamps that go along with a few on the front of this card front.  Yes, the card front is already printed with this cute design!

Paper Pumpkin is on sale right now until March 31st, 2016

Next month's Paper Pumpkin with have a limited edition, it is celebrating it's third year!

To receive this limited edition, subscribe by March 10th!

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!  Mary

Blissful Bride

My good friend Linda's daughter is getting married in about three weeks and I needed a card to go along with my shower gift that I will be giving to her.

I used a lot of retired products, Blissful Bride stamp set, Specialty Bride Paper, and the white ribbon.  Current items I used were,  thick Whisper White card stock for my card base, Whisper White for the stamped image and some Dazzling Diamonds glitter paper, for a little bling!

I went with a all white card, which is something new for me to do.  Oh the bride's color is a soft tan, so I used Sahara Sand for the ribbon on the dress.  I wish you could see it in real life, it is so much prettier than what the picture shows.

Thank you for coming by,  Mary

Petal Pusher

As a demonstrator, I can order new items before it goes live for everyone else.  When I saw this stamp set, I knew I wanted to add it to my stamp collection.  It has some really nice sentiments included in the set too.

You will have to excuse my coloring.  The main bicycle body is in Wisteria Wonder and then I used my silver pen for some of the other parts, but in the picture it looks like I colored it all the same color.  You can click on the picture and it will enlarge the picture for you.  I used the cute little basket and the flower stamp for the bicycle too.  I then used a blender pen to add some Crumb Cake ink under the image to ground it.  Then I use my Gorgeous Grunge splatter to add some light color to the background.  To make the polka dot background, I use a sponge dauber and Wisteria Wonder ink and made dots on Wisteria Wonder card stock.  I cut a piece of Tea Doily and a piece of Wisteria Wonder Baker's Twine (retired) on the angle.

I highly recommend you get this cute stamp set, I think you will have a lot of fun creating cards with it too!  Mary

Rose Wonder

Today I'm sharing my latest attempt at watercoloring.  I think I have the hang of this but will still keep practicing, but with another image.

This time I used Daffodil Delight for the rose color and I went again with Pear Pizzazz for the leaves and Soft Sky to do my highlighting around the image.  I use Daffodil Delight card stock to highlight the art piece and thick Whisper White for my card base.  The sentiment is from a retired stamp set called Build a Cupcake.

I will put this stamp set off to the side for awhile and move onto a new stamp set.

Thank you for coming by and I hope you have enjoyed my creations with this set.  Mary

Hello

Sorry about this late post.  I had the stomach bug last week and now hubby has it, so not too much creating has been going on.

Today is the last day that you can order this Sale-A-Bration stamp set.  Tomorrow there will be two more new stamps and glitter washi tape to pick from!

For this card I used Wisteria Wonder, Whisper White and Pink Pirouette card stock.  For the background stripes I used the Dots & Stripes stencils which I lightly sponged with Wisteria Wonder ink, lightly on the bottom and more heavy at the top. I used a scrap piece of Wisteria Wonder and adhered a cut piece of Tea Lace Doily.  You may not see it but I did use some Metallic Thread in Silver behind the Petite Petals, leaves are from the Bird Builder punch for a pop of green.  I added a few Basic Pearls to the flowers to dress them up some.  Oh the sentiment is embossed with Silver embossing powder, which doesn't show up in the photo.

Thank you for stopping by, still working on my other Aunt's birthday card.  I will share it when done.  Mary

That's the Ticket

Here is the last Valentine day card for the year.  I found one on Pinterest awhile ago and since I have this stamp set and punch I wanted to give it a try.  I don't know why the white background has a green tint to it, something must have gotten changed on my phone, will have to look into it.

I used the thick Whisper White for my card base, then a layer of Real Real with Pink Pirouette embossed with the Happy Heart Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Then I punched out hearts using the heart from Itty Bitty Punch Pack in Silver, Red and Blushing Bride Glimmer paper.  I used the retired Ticket punch to punch out the sentiment and Pink Pirouette and Real Red tickets.  I had some non-SU white ribbon laying on my craft table, so I went ahead and used that.  I used Glue Dots to adhere the heart to the card stock.

This was a pretty and simple card to make and would not be hard to mass produce either.

Thank you for coming to see me and all comments are welcome too!  Mary

Loads of Fun

For the cards that I made for my daughters this year, I pulled out a oldie but goodie, Loads of Fun!  I always have so much fun when I use this set and the two accessory stamps sets that go along with it.  I found this card over on Splitcoaststampers, a free online community for stampers and crafters.  I did change it up just a bit but it is very close to the one I saw.

For this card I used Loads of Fun and Valentine Define.  For card stock I used Whisper White, Basic Black and Real Red.  Ink colors are Real Red and Blushing Bride.  I used a Black Stampin' Write marker to color in the tires and the truck bed rail.  Then I used the White Stampin' Chalk Marker for the wheel hubs, windshield, tail light and headlight, I then used the Silver Chalk Marker to color in the door handle and bumpers.  I fussy cut the pile of hearts and the truck out and use a exacto knife to cut out the side window.  I also used the retired Embosslit Heart for the red heart and retired heart punch.  The smaller hearts are from the Confetti Hearts Border.

I think they will like their cards!!  Mary

Gorgeous Grunge Valentine

Well we are on the home stretch for Valentine's Day cards.  I only need to make a couple more and I'll be done.  I've already mailed out the ones I've made some the recipients should have them by now.

I found this card over on someone's Pinterest board and it looks fairly simple, so I went with it.

I used a lot of retired products on this one, washi tape, designer series paper, ribbon and Hearts A Flutter stamp set and Framelits.  I did use Teeny Tiny Wishes and Gorgeous Grunge that is current.  The ink colors are Rose Red and Blushing Bride.  Card stock is Whisper White and Blushing Bride.

This was a pretty quick card to assemble, which is what I needed to stay on schedule!

Thank you for coming by to see my creation and I hope I've inspire you in a small way too!  Mary

Heart A Flutter

Well as you can see I've been working on some more Valentine cards.  This one will go to a lady who I use to work for.  She recently had to move into Assisted Living and we are more like family, after working for her for 18 years.  She likes for me to come and visit her and as she says, "so we can sit and gossip".  I just love her to pieces, she is a very special friend to me.  So I go see her on the day that I would have gone to her house to work.

For my friend I wanted to make a special Valentine card, so I was cruising around on Pinterest and found one that I decided to CASE.  I think she will like it, her favorite color is blue.

I used Bermuda Bay, Gumball Green (retired) and Real Red inks for my stamping.  Card stock is Bermuda Bay, Whisper White and Real Red along with Silver Glimmer Paper.  Ribbons are both retired, Crumb Cake seam binding and 1/8" Bermuda Bay ribbon.  A Tea Lace Paper Doily was placed behind it all.  The Whisper White card stock was embossed with Happy Heart embossing folder, which I turned the de-embossed area to the front.  I also used the Bitty Banners Framelits to cut out my "be mine" banner with (I used the current Occasion stamp set-Bloomin' Love) and also the retired Hearts A Flutter Framelits and stamp set.  The heart were also cut with the Framelits.

Thank you for coming by to see me,  Mary

Rose Wonder in Pink

Well I want to share my second try with doing water coloring, this time I took the water out of my Aqua painter and had a little dish with water on my table to dab water onto the water color paper in the areas that I was working on.  This seem to give me more control over where the ink went on the area I was working on.  I moved all around on the image, so I was not working on a area close to a area I had just finished.

As you can see, I had better control of the shading that I did on the image.  Oh one thing I did do was take my stamp pads and inked up the image in two different colors.  I used Blushing Bride for the flower and Pear Pizzazz for the leaves.  Not to bad for my second time water coloring!!  I did use my water color paper from Michael's for this just because I got it for 40% off and was a cheaper paper for me to experiment with while I teach myself to water color.  Oh, I did use Soft Sky to add color behind the image, it gives a nice soft appearance to the card front.

My card base is Soft Sky.  I mounted my art piece to a piece of Blushing Bride.  The sentiment was stamped with Sahara Sand.  The sentiment is from a retired set, but you could use any kind of sentiment with this image.

My next try I want to do in yellow.  I have two aunts with upcoming birthdays and they will be receiving my art projects, I hope they like them!!  Now onto some more Valentine cards, it is coming faster than I want it too!

Thanks,  Mary

Timeless Textures

Good morning on the start of a new week, my January sure did go by fast this year didn't it.

I had a customer order from me a few weeks ago, so I needed to send her a thank you card.  I found this card on Melissa's blog and saved it to my Pinterest board so that I could CASE it.  She used a different stamp set for the heart image than what I used, but it is pretty much the same in all the rest of the elements.

I really hope that they keep this stamp set and that we see it in the annual catalog that is coming out in about three months, it has a lot of nice images in the set.

I used the thick Whisper White for my card base, if you haven't used this, you should, it makes a nice sturdy card base.  I then used Sahara Sand, which I stamped off once for a nice soft image.  Then I used Rose Red for the "pop" of color and finally used the Greeting Thinlits and cut the "thanks" out using Silver Glimmer paper.  For the heart image I use the stamp set Hello Life.  This card would make a quick and easy Valentine card by simply changing out the thin lit image!  To see the image better, just click on it to enlarge it.

Well, off to make some more Valentine's for some more of my friends, have a great week!  Mary
