Oven S'Mores

Oven S'More's

Hershery chocolate bars
marshmallows
graham crackers

Today I'm going to share a recipe that I'm sure that we've all had as children growing up either as family campers or as scouts...S'More's!!! There is just a slight twist to this version of this treat, you don't need a campfire anymore to enjoy them! A couple days ago, I received this recipe in my e-mail mailbox from Our Best Bites (here is the link to her recipe):
http://www.ourbestbites.com/2010/08/candy-bar-oven-smores.html
Now when I made mine the other day, I did it the old-fashion way with the Hershery's chocolate bars, instead of the peanut butter cup or the Rolos. I didn't make mine like she did, I took my squares of graham crackers, laid six on my toaster oven tray, than my chocolate square on top of the cracker, than two marshmallows side-by-side on top of the chocolate. I put the toaster oven on broil and slid the tray into the toaster and let the marshmallows get brown on top (this also made the chocolate really gooey). When the marshmallows are to your liken, pull them out, transfer to a plate and place another graham cracker square on top and squish it together! What a yummy mess you will have!! Both my husband and daughter really enjoyed this simple treat!

Dessert Cake

Get yourself ready for a really good recipe today!! This stuff is so good, that you'll want to get a BIG spoon and eat the whole dessert by yourself! I got this recipe many years ago from my mom and I do believe that it is the best thing, EVER! When you are eating this, you'll find yourself saying over and over, "man this is so good".

Dessert Cake

1 package of yellow or Golden yellow Jiffy cake mix--follow the directions on the box to make and bake BUT bake in a grease 9 x 13 inch cake pan. Bake for 15 minutes at 350 degrees; cool.

After the cake is cool, add on top :
1- 20 ounce can crushed pineapple, drained well (doesn't matter what kind of syrup it is in)

Then mix in a small mixing bowl:
1 - 8 ounce package softened cream cheese (you want this softened, no lumps that way)
1/2 cup milk, alittle at a time
I use my hand held mixer to do this, makes it very easy
set aside for now

In a large mixing bowl, mix:
2 1/2 cups milk
2 small packages of vanilla instant pudding mix
Mix these together for about 2 to 3 mins., or until you can see it start to thicken some

Now add the cream cheese/milk mixture into the pudding mixture, gentle mixing until well incorporated. Now pour this over the top of the pineapple/cake.

Spread 1 - 8 ounce carton of thawed Cool Whip over the pudding layer. Refigerate for at least one hour before serving or overnight. Refrigerate any leftovers.

This seems to get better the day after it is made, holds up well for several days, if it last that long!!

I made this for dessert for our Father's day gathering and today there are only three pieces left! So YUMMY!!!

Thanks for dropping in and I hope your enjoy this recipe as much as my family does....Mary

Chocolate Pizza

Now this is the kind of pizza everyone should enjoy! My family likes this and when the girls were younger I would make this all the time, hope you will enjoy it too!

Chocolate Pizza

3/4 cup margarine (this equal 12 Tablespoons)
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups flour
1/4 cup Hershey's cocoa
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt

Cream together the margarine and sugar; add the egg and vanilla, mixing well. Than add the flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt. Make sure you mix together well. Spread on a foil-lined pizza pan. Sprinkle on top of the pizza:

1/2 cup chocolate chips
1/4 cup chopped nuts
1/2 cup M&M's

Bake at 350 degrees for 18 to 20 minutes. Cool; cut into wedges.

Now you can put whatever "toppings" your family would like, say miniature marshmallows, coconut, peanuts, you get the idea, whatever sounds good to you. I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as we do! Hey, this might even be good with some ice cream!
