Rose Wonder

I'm want to share with you a card that I made with one of the new In Colors for 2016-2018.  I must tell you that I really like these new colors, they are really nice.

For this card I used the new one called Flirty Flamingo, which is a pink color.  I hadn't used my Rose frame lit too much, which will be in the new upcoming catalog.  I used some Birthday Bouquet Designer Series paper because it has Blushing Bride in it and I think it goes well with the new Flirty Flamingo color

.

I also cut a rose image from Whisper White, then I used the Fine Tip glue pen to adhere the pattern pieces down with.  The sentiment is from the Rose Wonder stamp set.  I then added a piece of the Pool Party 3/8" Glitter Ribbon.  Of course I couldn't throw away the other die cut so I made a second card.

Looking at the second one, I probably should have sponged some ink behind the Rose image for little bit more pop.  Next time I will try that!

On this note, they told us at OnStage that when using the Precision Base Plate to NOT USE it with the Magnetic Platform.  Over time the pressure that it puts on the framelits could cause them to crack or even break.  Only use the Precision Base Plate with the Multipurpose Platform.

Lovely Little Wreath from April Paper Pumpkin

APRIL PAPER PUMPKIN: LOVELY LITTLE WREATH

Say hello to the Lovely Little Wreath! This adorable accent is the perfect addition to your springtime décor and makes a great gift for special occasions like Mother’s Day.

Usually we show three extra ideas for the kit, but this time our artist had so much fun that she came up with FIVE projects! So, what do a cactus, dinosaur, and Christmas have in common? Let’s find out.


It’s never too early to start thinking about Christmas, right? It’s easy to turn the Lovely Little Wreath into a holiday décor item. Simply swap out the yellow flowers for holly berries and use a holiday stamp on the chalkboard sign.


Next, with Mother’s Day right around the corner, add some festive foliage to create a glamorous gift box for Mom. Use the chalkboard tags and Very Vanilla Craft Stampin’ Spot from the kit.


Raise your hand if you’ve picked up on the cactus trend. They’re everywhere, right? Create some eye-catching cacti with beautiful desert blooms with the extra flowers and leaves from your kit.


The bent leaves on the branches pop right off this prehistoric card. And, might we say . . . the end result is dino-mite!


Finally, keep it simple with a smaller version of the wreath to create a stunning centerpiece for a card front.

It’s always amazing to see what you can do with your Paper Pumpkin kit. Whether you want to change it up completely, or just use up the extra parts and pieces, the end result is always fun! Sunburst Thinking of You

Well today I'm going to show you the second card that I made with the Sunburst Framelit.  This one turned out so nice and it is a fairly flat card, so no extra postage is required!

I think using color card stock really helps this card out!  It is a bright and cheery card, I just need to finish off the inside now.

Sunburst Birthday Card

I got the new Sunburst die when Stampin' Up! had it for one of their weekly deals, so I had to give it a go.  Here is one of the cards I made.

Not too bad for my first try, but really not my favorite either.  Oh well, the one I share on Friday looks so much better, so come back then to see that one!

Picture Perfect Hummingbird

Well this week is going by fast!  I think I'm finally caught up on my sleep too.

Well here is one of the current two-step stamps that Stamping' Up! has for sale right now.  Actually, the hummingbird is four-steps but well worth the effort.  Now with this stamp I would highly recommend doing a lot of practice so that you get the hang of it and I also wrote down different color combinations too for future reference.  I found this over on Carmen Morris's blog.  Her's is so pretty, that I just had to give it a try!

Peek A Boo Card

Good Monday morning to all.  I hope you all had a wonderful week-end.  I'm trying to catch up from the fun couple days that I had in Salt Lake at OnStage.  It was fun to meet some of the top demonstrators and get to talk to them too!  If you live in or around the Kansas City, MO area, in November OnStage will be held here!!  I tell you, Stamping' Up! demonstrators have to be some of the most friendly, loving people I've even meet.

I'm sure you have all seen these cards floating around on the Facebook and Pinterest.  I finally decided to give it a try and it really is a very easy card to make.  I found my instructions over at Wanda's blog.

I used the Botanical Garden Designer Series Paper for the front panel.  I mounted it on some Hello Honey.  The sentiment is from Birthday Blooms, which I left the inside blank and can stamp whatever sentiment I need in the future.  

For the flowers I used the Botanical Builder Framelits using Hello Honey, Mossy Meadow and Cajun Craze, the same colors in the DSP.  I also lightly sponged the edges of the flowers to give them some depth.  For a nice finishing touch, I added some Rhinestones to the flowers centers.

Rose Wonder

I received a e-mail awhile back that had this card in it.  It was posted by Connie Collins, and I just knew I had to make it too.  Connie took her Bloomin' Heart Thinlit and die cut out four of the heart shapes.  She arranged them on her card layer and placed her sentiment in the center where the die cuts didn't meet.  While she used a Easter greeting, I wanted to use the sentiment that is in the Rose Wonder stamp set.  Connie also used the Botanical Builder Framelits for the flowers at top.  You can see her beautiful card HERE.  As you can see, that Heart shaped Thinlit is not just for Valentine cards!

Here is what I used:

Card stock: Thick Whisper White, Whisper White, Wisteria Wonder, Daffodil Delight, Cherry Cobbler, Elegant Eggplant, Always Artichoke and Shimmery White

Ink: Elegant Eggplant

Basic Pearls

I used my old Color Coach to come up with the color combo for the Cherry Cobbler and Wisteria Wonder/ Elegant Eggplant scheme.

This card will be sent to a lady who is struggling with cancer right now.

Beautiful Ride

I really like this stamp set, Beautiful Ride, not only for the cute "Beetle" but also because it is versatile!  Lots of cute sayings and images.  When I was a lot younger, I had a red VW, it was a lot of fun to have too!

As you can see, I used three different stamp sets, Beautiful Ride, Sheltering Tree and Work of Art!  I love how you can create a scene with Stamping' Up! stamps!  I stamped the image on watercolor paper so that I could color it in and then fussy cut it out, not too hard.  Then I build my scene with with the tree placement, then the grass and road.  I use a hand-cut stencil for the clouds to add further interest.  Over all I really like how it came out!  I did leave the inside of the card blank, so I can add a sentiment on down the line, if I want too!

Card stock: Whisper White, Daffodil Delight and Water color paper

Inks: Daffodil Delight, Pink Pirouette, Rose Red, Soft Suede, Pear Pizzazz, Sahara Sand and Soft Sky

Markers: Real Red, Smoky Slate, Black and Crumb Cake

Sprinkles of Life

I will be gone the next couple of days, Wednesday through Sunday, as I'm going to OnStage in Salt Lake City!  I will have posts set up for this week.

We all know that the Retirement list is coming out on April 18th.  We also know that this stamp set will be retiring, it is a Ronald McDonald House set and those are only available for one year.  So if you think you want this set, now is the time to get it, as retiring sets are a "while supplies last".  Same with the In Colors for 2014-2016, those are retiring and are also "while supplies last" and those seem to go really quickly too.

As you can see, I went with a soft color palate for the ice cream.  I used Pistachio Pudding (retired), Pink Pirouette and Daffodil Delight.  I use my Blender pen to color in the ice cream.  I used Hello Honey for the ice cream cone.  The colors are repeated around the outside of the image with the sprinkle stamp.  The Happy Birthday was stamped with Sahara Sand.  Image was stamped using Black StazOn.

Here is the inside of the card too.  

Card stock used was, Whisper White, Pistachio Pudding (retired) and Crumb Cake.  I used the punch, Tree Builder, to punch out the "ice cream" with.

I actually made this card in about 30 min., so it is a fairly easy card to make.

Washi Tape Thank You

I needed to make two thank you cards and wanted them to be simple and easy.  I found this card over on Susan Itell's blog.  Susan made a square card for hers but I didn't want to do a square one, so I pulled out my notecards and envelopes and made that size instead.  I really like Stampin' Up!'s notecards, you get 20 cards and envelopes for $6.00, it is a really good deal!!

I used a lot of retired products on this one, the DSP is Sweet Sorbet, the card stock is Pistachio Pudding and the baker's twine is Pool Party.  The sentiment is from a retired stamp set Regarding Dahlia.  The background is from the current Gorgeous Grunge, love that set, hope it doesn't retire next month!!
