Oh boy, I'm on a roll with my card making and it is so nice to in the craft room playing too!
Hi everyone, I hope your day is going well for all of you! Did you all have your forbidden treats yesterday on Fat Tuesday?
This is a card that I made for my uncle's birthday that is coming up next month. Man I do have a hard time coming up with cards for men and I hope he doesn't think this is too "kiddie" for him. As you can see it is a very clean and simple card, which sometimes are just a beautiful as others with many embellishments on. I'm sure I saw a card similar to this on the web, but darn it, I can't remember where, so I can't claim it as my idea, but was inspired by someone else.
I used the new edgelit die and embossing folder from Stampin Up. Boy, these new toys really add and extra touch for very little effort to your cards, Love them!! After I had cut and embossed, I adhered a strip of dsp underneath and than reattached the cut off piece, than trimmed any excess off, just wanted to add some more color to the front.
All products are from Stampin' Up!
Stamp set: Outlined Occasions (SAB)
Ink: Black Staz-On, used markers to color in the word
Card stock: Whisper White
Designer: Everyday Enchantment
Well this does it for this post, hope you have a wonderful day! Mary

Quilted Birthday Cards
Happy Presidents Day, hope you all have the day off and are having a relaxing day.
I would like to share with you two cards that I made this weekend. It was so relaxing to have some time to play with my stamps and paper too. I have two aunts that have birthdays coming up, within a week of each other, and decided to have them made and done ahead of time for a change.
I used a one inch square punch to punch out my "quilt pieces" with, later I found out most use the 1 1/4" square punch but I didn't want to waste the punches so I went for it. Mine is what you would call a old time patch quilt, lol! This way too I didn't have to worry about getting the "sashing" even between the squares. After I had all of the pieces adhered to the card piece, I ran it thru the Big Kick using the Finial Press embossing folder. Than I used the designer frame embossing folder to hold my sentiment, I cut that out with my oval die cut. Added some ribbon and ink and I was very happy with my "quilt"!
Stampin" Up! supplies:
Designer series paper:Everyday Enchantment (SAB)
Card stock:Whisper White, Pool Party and Calypso Coral
Ink:Soft Suede
Ribbon:1/8" Organdy Ribbon (SAB)
Stamp Set:Petite Pairs

Faux Tile Techinque
Good day everyone, hope you are having a great one!
Today I would like to share my latest card that I made. My friend, Chanda, recently sent me some card kits to play with and this was one of the cards she sent. Well, not THIS one. She did hers in a different color, but I didn't have the same color of ink or card stock, so I used what I had on hand. You can see her beautiful card HERE Isn't it pretty?! I needed a thank you card so I pulled one of my retired set because I really like the way this sentiment looks, very elegant. The card stock and ink I used were, Regal Rose and Pink Pirouette along with some Whisper White. I used Pretty In Pink ribbon and added a pearl too. I punched out the sentiment with the wide oval punch and the scalloped oval punch, I like how those two punches work together so well. Oh the stamp set I used is called Element of Style.
To get the faux tile look, you take your card stock and score it at 1 inch intervals, turn and do the same going the other way. My white card stock measured 4" x 5".
Well thanks for stopping by and hope to see you soon! Mary

On the Grow Scooter
Hi everyone! Are you all ready for the big game on Sunday? Hope you all have had a great week and a better week-end too!
Today I want to share with you a card that I made for my friend Linda, Hi Linda, hope you had a great birthday! Linda and I had breakfast together a couple of weeks ago and she was telling me how she would like to have a scooter some day, which really surprised me! Well early in the week she sent me an e-mail and said that she got a yellow scooter for her birthday!! She is so happy and excited to finally have one, me being a mom that I am, I told her to be careful when she is on it. I was trying to think of a really special card that I could make for her and this stamp set popped into my mind! I'm so glad that I had gotten this set now, I didn't think that I would ever need a card with a scooter on it! Looking at the picture I wish now that I would have added a wider ribbon to it, but oh well, that's the way it goes, next time. Happy Birthday sentiment is stamped on the inside.
All supplies are Stampin' Up!
Stamp set: On the Grow, retired
Card stock: Pretty In Pink, Certainly Celery, Subtle Designer Series and Purple
SU markers
Ink: Black Staz-On
aqua painter
Thanks for dropping in to see me, I'm now making wedding invitations for my youngest daughter for her to choose which one she would like for me to make for her September wedding, so you will be seeing those in the near future too! Have a crafty day................Mary
