So Simple Corner Bookmarks

Hi everyone! Today I'm going to share with you and idea that I found at Traci Gentry's blog. You can find the directions on how to make these cute book markers on her blog Inkin' up the Dogs

Now my friend Chanda, sent me the supplies to make these shown here in the picture (which after looking at them, I did not make right, sigh) but it just shows how you can make them anyway you would like!

With these cute bookmarks you use a Stampin' Up envelope, scrap pieces of designer paper, ribbon and scallop punch. They go together very quickly too.

I hope you give these little gems a try, have a crafty day...............Mary

Happy Easter

Hi everyone! I hope that you all have a blessed day spent with family and or your friends. Hope the Easter bunny was good to you and left you all alot of goodies too!
These are the cards that I made for my daughters this year to put with their Easter baskets, yes, even though they are in their 20's, they still want an Easter basket! Could it be too that the Easter bunny also put alittle bit of cash in some of the eggs?!! Nice Easter bunny, wish he would leave me a basket with some cash in it! I got this stamp set last year after Easter (you didn't think I would be smart enough to get before did you)? So, of course, I had to wait a whole year to be able to use it. One of these days I will get smart, wink, wink!
All supplies use were from Stampin' Up.
I'm going to hop on out of here and have some chocolate eggs, have a crafty day...........Mary

Super Quick and Easy Card

Hi, today I want to share with you a card that made. I found the original idea at
BUTTERNUT SAGE blog. I know that I've seen this technique on another blog, but can't remember where now. I think it took me all of five minutes to do these two cards. You could easily change the sentiment for whatever you would need it for, maybe a sympathy card?? I used a brayer to put Certainly Celery and Bashful Blue ink onto my card base. The stamp set is called As Lovely as a Tree from Stampin' Up!. Whisper White was used for the card base.

Hope you all have a blessed Easter and if you are on the road, a safe trip too! I'm so blessed to have you all as my blog friends, thank you for dropping by to see me.........Mary

Cherry Coke Salad

Hi everyone! Hope your week is off to a great start.

Today I want to share with you a salad that I made for our Easter dinner that we had on Sunday. We had to get together a week early because my youngest daughter was in town for a volleyball game and would not be coming back for Easter.

This is a recipe that I got from my sister-in-law clear back in the late 1970's and has become a salad that is always on the table for every family get together. So sorry I don't have a picture to share with you, didn't have time to take one. You can stir this up a couple of days before you need it too.

CHERRY COKE SALAD

1 - 14.5 oz. can of red sour cherries, save the liquid
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup liquid from the cherries
1 - 8 oz. can crushed pineapple, undrained
10 ounces COKE
1 cup chopped nuts, optional
2 - small packages cherry Jell-O

Place cherries, sugar and cherry liquid in saucepan. Bring to a boil and boil for 2 to 3 minutes, remove from the heat. Pour in cherry jello and stir well. Slowly add the COKE, mixing well. Set aside to cool to lukewarm. Add the nuts and pineapple when mixture is lukewarm. Pour into either a serving bowl or a mold. Put into refrigerator to set.

Hope your family enjoys this simple salad as much as we do, thanks for stopping by!! Mary

Meow Meow Card

Hi to all of you! Now you all know what a big dog lover I am, but I do on occasion need to make cards for people who have cats as a part of their family. So one night I went surfing on E-bay for a cat stamp set and found this one called "Meow Meow" which is a retired stamp set from Stampin' Up. As I sat at my craft table, I thought and thought on how to use this set, so as always, I went over to Splitcoaststampers and found this card. I CASE'd this card made by Kittie Caracciolo, also know as Kittie747 over on Splitcoaststamers. You can see her card HERE. What an amazing card maker she is too! If you would like to see of her work HERE is the link to her blog. I once again used my spritzer tool to add to the white background of the card. Below are the supplies that I used: Stampin' Up: stamp sets: Meow Meow and C is for Cat (paw print), card stock: Whisper White, Pretty In Pink, Rich Razzleberry designer paper markers: Close to Cocoa, Early Espresso, Rich Razzleberry, Pretty In Pink, Pink Pirouette, Regal Rose, More Mustard & Creamy Caramel spritzer Other: Deckle scissors Scallop Nesties I'm glad that you stopped in to see me today and as always I would love to hear your comments too! SSC #198 Of the Earth

Today I thought I would play along with Stamping411 and their sketch challenge. This is the first one I've ever done, while the sketch was very easy, making my card was not! Today was not the day to make any cards, it seems everything was going wrong, and my card is just not one of my favorites but it's not too bad. If you would like to do the challenge, you can find it HERE Here is my card. You have to use all Stampin' Up products, well, I wanted to put a little safety pin in the ribbon, but of course, I don't have any. I think that is why the card is not speaking to me, I should have put a bow on it and I think it would look much better, oh well, just one of those days. I'm short on sleep today, hubby has a cold and boy was he ever loud last night, all he did was snore! Hopefully I will get some sleep tonight!

Here is what I used:

Stamp set- Of the Earth; Very Vintage wheel; champagne glimmer mist; card stock-Early Espresso, Marina Mist, Very Vanilla; ink-Early Espresso; scallop border punch; to set marker color on brad-clear embossing powder; marker-Early Espresso to color brad with.

There you have it, hope your week-end is going well, it is sunny and 85 degrees and windy too but hey it sure beats the snow and cold that just left! Have a crafty week-end.............Mary

Baby Blossoms Cards

Hi everyone, did you all survive the wild and crazy spring weather some of us have been having? Oh, I wish Mother Nature would settle down and let spring come and stay...Soon!

Today I would like to share with you my latest cards that I made, more RAK cards. Now when I first got this stamp set and saw all of the pieces to it, I thought to myself, "why did you buy this", it was very intimidating! So I finally got brave enough to play with it and this is the card that I made. I did find THIS handy reference guide on Brenda's blog, it sure does help too!

I love the soft look that I achieved with the paper, ribbon and inks! I made the top background piece by using my Stampin' Up markers and a spritzer tool, I had so much fun doing this that I will try this again with different ink colors!

All supplies are Stampin' Up:

Baby Blossom, Watercolor Trio stamps, Pretty In Pink card stock, Certainly Celery ribbon, pearls, Scallop border punch, Spritzer tool and markers.

I'm having trouble with double spacing, if anyone can HELP me, I'd appreciate it very much!

I hope you all have a crafty day...................Mary

Happy Birthday Cards for my Daughters

Hi everyone, hope your day is going well! Well this time of year at my house means three birthdays in one month, my two daughter's and my husband. I'm the lone wolf in the family, mine is in December. This year I decided to get ahead of the game and make my cards earlier so I didn't have to "throw" something together at the last minute for the girls' birthday cards. I think these cards turned out so cute! Both of my girls own yellow labs, Lucy and Montgomery, so I wanted to make them a card that had a dog on it. Well one day I was over at Splitcoaststampers cruising the gallery and found this card HERE. I knew immediately that this was the card for their birthdays this year, I think that they will really be suprised when they open them! I found a video tutorial on Mary Fish's blog where she shows how to make the background for my birthday wish label, you can see it HERE, it is really very easy to do with the decorative label punch. All of the supplies are Stampin' Up except for the polka dot glitter paper, I got that a couple of years ago at Archiver's. Hope you like my birthday card and also hope you have a craft day too! Mary
