Hearts A Flutter

.
Hello to all of you, I hope you had a great week-end.  Yesterday was my Dad's 86th birthday, and he is doing very well too!  Still mows the lawn and goes for a walk everyday.

Today I want to share two cards with you, one in Wisteria Wonder and Pool Party.  I saw these same cards, different colors and sentiment over on Pinterest.  HERE.  Now I didn't need any baby cards so I made mine into birthday cards.  I used the new Press Clay and the molds to make the button and flower on both cards, I let them dry overnight, then I colored them with my markers.  I also applied some Crystal Effects too see what they would look like with some shine to them and I think it makes them look like real buttons.  When the clay is dried, it is very pliable, so hopefully they will go though the mail just fine.  Now I don't have ribbon in the colors I used, so I took a 1/4" of card stock to cover my edges.  Works in a pinch, you could even stamp on the strip too.

Products used:

Stamp set: Itty Bitty Banner and Hearts A Flutter
Card stock: Whisper White, Pool Party, Wisteria Wonder and Crumb Cake
Embossing Folder: Perfect Polka Dots
Paper Doilies
Bitty Banners Framelits
Simply Pressed Clay
Buttons & Blossoms Simply Pressed Clay Molds
Wisteria Wonder and Pool Party Bakers Twine (both retired)
Glue Dots

Well, there you have it, I hope you enjoyed the cards that I shared with you today, have a great day!  Mary

Label Love

Good Friday to all of you!  It has been a very nice, slow, relaxing week for me, just what I needed too!

Today I want to share a card with you that I'm mailing to my friend who just became a first time grandmother on Wednesday, Hi Patti!!  I know she is over the moon about her new little granddaughter !  I've seen a few pictures of her on Facebook and she sure is a cutie too!    I found this card over on Pinterest.  Now mine is not exactly the same, because, well, I didn't have the same sentiment stamp set or the same ribbon either.  I did use what I had, the same card stock and the Mosaic Madness stamp set and punch.  The ribbon is the 3/8" Pleated Satin ribbon from awhile ago, now retired, but by putting half of it under the Blushing Bride card stock, it almost looks like the new ribbon in the catalog!  Oh lucky me, I held onto my Blushing Bride and Pear Pizzazz card stock, ink pads and re-inkers when they retired awhile back, but are now back in the new catalog, saved some money, yea!  But the green on this card is the new Pistachio Pudding, the blue is the new Soft Sky, I think they go together very well! I also used the 7/8" scallop punch, I'm always amazed had how well Stampin' Up! does this with their stamps in using the many different items they offer so that you use them many times over!  I also you the flower from the Itty Bitty Punch pack and added some rhinestones too.  Stampin' Dimensionals were used to pop up the sentiment and the mosaic pieces as well.  Click on the picture to get a closer look.

You can see the original card HERE.

I hope you all have a safe, enjoyable week-end, thanks for stopping by too!   Mary

By The Tide

Well, I hope everyone is fine today, I'm enjoying some down time this week and having fun playing in my craft room too!

This is a card that I found over on the Stampin' Up! demonstrators website, and just fell in love with it!  So I followed the trail to the fellow demonstrator website HERE.  The background (water part) is done doing a technique called Bouncing Brayer.  So off to YouTube to find a video or two to watch to see how it's done.  Now SU no longer sells their glossy paper and some demos have stated that the photo paper will not work, but I'm here to tell you that photo paper (the kind you use in your home printer to make photos with) will most certainly work or at least the Epson paper I have does!  Now in the card above I used Whisper White, which did work, but I decided to try the photo paper and actually like how the background looks more like water, just the right amount of shine to it.  This was my first attempt at doing the bouncing brayer and I liked it so much that I got out more photo paper and made three more backgrounds to make three more cards.  If you are like me, I have a ton of 4" x 6" photo paper collecting dust in the craft room and I'm so glad to find out that I can now use it for cards that call for glossy card stock!  On this card the sand is a piece of Crumb Cake, but on the other ones I made using Photo Paper, I brayer Crumb Cake directly onto the Photo Paper, I just used a mask to keep the ink where I wanted it.  I made this card for my Dad's birthday, that is one reason why I got this set, perfect for the men in my life that need nice looking cards too!

Products used:

Stamp set: By The Tide
Ink: Pool Party, Marina Mist, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso and Black Stazon
Markers: Calypso Coral, Pool Party, Island Indigo, Pear Pizzazz, So Saffron and Pink Pirouette
Card stock: Whisper White, Pool Party
Word Window Punch
Pearls
Stampin Dimensional
Brayer
Sponge Daubers
Blender pen

Well there you have it, once you get the hang of how to bounce your brayer, it's fun and easy to do!  Bye for now,    Mary

Happy Father's Day Punch Art

Hi too all of you.  Did you have fun celebrating Father's Day with your favorite Dad?  I was by myself yesterday, hubby had to work, so the fur kids and I where here by ourselves.

I wanted to share with you the card that I mailed to my Dad.  I found this idea HERE.  I wanted something fun for his card, so I picked this one.  See the table cloth on the table?  I made that with the new wheel called Gingham and the Scalloped Edge punch.  The legs were punched out with the Word Window punch as was the "plate" the hot dogs are sitting on.  It is also used for the grill legs.  I used the Owl Builder punch for the small wheel and the 1/2 inch circle punch for the other wheel.  A 1 3/4" circle punch for the grill (Real Red).  Before I cut that circle in half I dab on some Versamark and Clear Embossing powder, heat set it so it would look like a brand new grill.  I used the mini silver brads for the hinge and wheel.  I did use the retired Slot punch for the grill handles and the hot dogs.  For the background I used the Cloud embossing folder in Sky Blue and Pistachio Pudding for the grass, which I hand snipped.  Oh, the flames are the wing from the Bird Builder punch, using So Saffron card stock and sponge with some More Mustard ink.  The sentiment is Teeny Tiny Wishes.

I sure hope this card brings a smile to my Dad's face, he use to grill all the time, but not so much anymore.  Have a great day!     Mary

Papillon Potpourri

Good day to all of you!  I hope you are all well, summer has finally arrived in our part of the world!

Today I want to share with you a card that I found over on Sandi MacIver's blog, you can see hers HERE.  I did do mine just a bit different, for one, no ribbon because all of my ribbon is retired and after I did my embossing I noticed I did that different than hers too, so I just went with what I had done and I think it turned out great!  For the butterflies, just stamp them with Stazon black ink onto Whisper White card stock, then take your two colors and using a sponge dauber, apply ink first to the center of the butterfly, than with another sponge dauber apply your second color to the outside area of the first color (I used Marina Mist and Daffodil Delight, which mixed together makes a small area of green too), then take the Elegant Butterfly punch and punch them out!  I used Glue Dots to adhere them to the card stock.  I used the Delicate Designs and Needlepoint embossing folders for the embossing.  The DSP is Polka Dot Parade and I used a Rhinestone and the Pearls under the Simply Sketched sentiment.

I hope you try this simple but easy card, so pretty in real life!    Mary

Flip Flop Card

Happy Wednesday to all of you!  I hope your summer is off to a great start!

As promised, here is the flip flop card that I made.  I've been wanting for a couple of years to try my hand making one but could never find a pattern.  Well, today is your lucky day, I'm going to share the link where I found my pattern at!  HERE is the template, scroll down to post #8 and you will see a PDF attachment to that comment, click on it and print out the template.  Now on my template, first I cut it out then traced it onto some thin plastic to I would have a permanent template for future use.  I also moved the top hole (where your toes would go) a little bit further in, but you can adjust the holes however you would like.  When I was making mine, I had some of the 5/8" Flower Trim (retired) laying on my table so I thought would make it real girly by adding a flower to each!  I used the Polka Dot Parade designer series paper and the 1/8" Taffeta ribbon in Rich Razzleberry (retired), but you could use any ribbon of your choice.  Card stock is Pistachio Pudding, Whisper White and Pink Pirouette.  Oh, I ran my card stock through the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder, I also used the new stamp set, Label Love, also the coordinates with Artisan Label punch.  Rich Razzleberry ink was used for the sentiment.

This is my share for today, hope you enjoyed it!  Mary
