Accented Blooms

Here is one of the new stamp sets from the new annual catalog.  Since they have brought back the Blends and I like to color, I got this set.  I can see using different sentiments with this set too.  I used the new Subtle embossing folder, it gives just enough texture to the background.

I found a free watermarking app for my phone and it makes it SO easy to do now!

Mother's Day Gift Bag

Saturday my daughter brought over my two little grandson's so that they could give me my Mother's Day gift.  Well I had bought my daughter some Young Living items but forgot about wrapping them until right before they came.  So I went into the craft room and snagged one of the left-over gift bags that I had from when I made them for her baby shower, you can view them HERE All I did was punch out a 2-1/4" circle, stamped some images from Apron of Love on it and adhere it over the original image!  Whew, I got done just as they pulled up in front of our house and I must say, it came out rather cute too!

Thank you for stopping in, see you on another day.  Mary

You're Priceless, Take Two

I once again used this stamp set to send a thank you card, but this time to my direct Upline.  This time I made a regular A2 size card, while she is not a Diamond yet, she will be in the near future!

This time I used Pool Party for my ink color and colored in the Diamond with my Blender pen.  I also did some embossing with Silver, which is her rank right now, to tie it altogether!  I also used the Stitched Square framelits for the main sentiment.  The ribbon is retired Pool Party Seam Binding.

Thank you for coming by see my creations, would love to hear from some of you too!!  Mary

You're Inspiring

Long time no see.  I've been away for awhile with computer issues and it is still not 100% to where I was a couple months ago, but in time I will have it the way I like it.

I made a couple of these cards to send to my aunts and uncle for Easter and was sad to see that this set is retiring soon, but I will keep it in my collection as you can use it for so many different cards and besides that who doesn't love tulips!

I used my Blends to color in the main image and also to color the ribbon for a perfect match!

Here is what I used:

Stamp set: You're Inspiring
Card stock: Daffodil Delight, Whisper White and Thick Whisper White
Ribbon: 3/8" Metallic-Edge Ribbon
Framelits: Lots of Labels

It feels good to be sharing again!  Mary

New Stampin Up Stamp Cases

Stampin' Up! has changed the ink pad case.
Why did we change the case?
The case’s manufacturing mold was about to expire. We can only use a mold a limited number of times before we need to replace it, so we had to decide if we wanted to order more of the same molds or try to improve the design. We chose to improve it!
We wanted to align the updated case with the color refresh and improvements to our ink. In addition, we chose to time these changes with Stampin’ Up!’s rebranding and packaging updates. This way, when you invest in the new colors, you are also getting the new and improved ink pads at the same time! We wanted to make these updates and changes in a way that was most cost efficient for you.
What’s better about the case?
Using research, focus group feedback, comments in the Product Sandbox, and the L2L program, we discovered a few things that could improve the design of the Classic Stampin’ Pad case.
We wanted the new case to:
  • Be less confusing to open. Opening the new ink pad case is now more simple and intuitive—just insert your thumb in the lip at the front of the case and lift it to open.
  • Have a tighter fit between the lid and the base. With the new design, the lid doesn’t accidentally become disconnected, which was a common problem with the old case style. With use, the lid will be easier to slide open and close.
  • Be stackable. The ability to stack the cases makes them easier to store and transport. We designed a nub in each bottom corner that fits nicely into the dimple on the top of another case. Tip: Removing the label stickers from the bottom of the case (after applying the needed labels to the case) also makes the ink pads stack a little better.
  • Include improved labels and stickers. Here are a few of the ways we’ve done that:
    • The top label now has a cleaner, bolder design and a larger color swatch, making it easier to see the ink’s color.
    • The stickers include a new In Color icon.
    • We’ve continued to provide color stickers that can be placed on the end of each case to easily identify the ink’s color at a glance.
    • We’re introducing a new color sticker you can place on the inside of the case, so you can easily distinguish the ink’s color when the case is open.
How is the ink different?
We improved our ink formula because we noticed that our old ink would sometimes bubble, especially on new pads and with lighter colors. When this happened, the ink wasn’t as even and smooth when stamped as we’d like to see it.
The improved ink formula will:
  • Reduce ink bubbles.
  • Help you get a smooth coating of ink on the stamp.
  • Help lay down the ink better.
How do I know if my Classic Ink Refill has the new and improved ink?
Beginning with the 2018–2019 Annual Catalog, all ink refills will have the improved ink formula. Also, if you recently received an ink refill and it has the new branding label, it contains the improved ink formula.
Can I use an old ink refill on a new ink pad or a new ink refill on an old ink pad?
Yes! You absolutely can with the exception of the Basic Gray Archival and Basic Gray Classic Stampin’ inks. Archival and Classic inks should not be mixed. All other Classic Stampin’ inks will work fine.

Blooming Basket

Good Friday to all, I hope your week has been going well!

I made this card to send to a customer who recently placed a order with me.  When I send cards to my customers, I always leave them blank so that they can re-use them, if they want.  I place a hand-written note inside with a few mailable goodies from me!

This is a Sale-A-Bration stamp set and a embossing folder that was offered as a bundle.  The embossing folder is called Basketweave and will be offered in the new annual Stampin' Up! catalog in June 2018.

For this card I used Sahara Sand, Pink Pirouette and Whisper White. I used my Sahara Sand ink pad and lightly tapped the embossing folder to add some color to the background.  I used my Stampin' Blends, because you all know how much I like to color and I love how it turned out!!  I also use some Linen Thread and made a double bow the the basket handle.  This I a stamp set that I will keep and use long after the Occasion catalog has retired!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and will try to come back next week to share again.  Mary

Heartfelt Blooms

Awhile back I made two cards, the same, for my two aunts who both had birthdays coming up.  I when with this stamp set, Heartfelt Blooms and love how the cards turned out!

For the two cards I used Thick Whisper White for the card bases, then cut a piece of Sweet Sugarplum, then stamped the image in Sweet Sugarplum on regular Whisper White.  I heard from my cousin that she thought the card was so pretty.  Simple, clean and simple and no extra postage needed!  Sorry I don't remember which stamp set I used for the sentiment, but you can easily use your favorite!

Thanks for coming....Mary

Icing on the Cake

When the new annual catalog came out last July, I spotted this stamp set and knew it would be on my list to have, as I use to decorate cakes for awhile when my daughters' were young.  They loved it when Mom have left-over icing to have on either graham crackers or vanilla wafers!  Makes me want to get my cake decorating supplies out and make a real cake now!!

Now I made this "no calorie" cake for my uncles' upcoming birthday, I hope he likes it!!

Card stock: Thick Whisper White, Flirty Flamingo and Whisper White

Christmas Money Holders

So sorry for not posting for awhile.  My oldest daughter was pregnant and had high blood pressure and on bed rest for the last 5 weeks.  This morning she had a planned C-section and we welcome little Bradley Joseph into our family!  We are thrilled and we now have another redhead too!

Now before Christmas, a couple of higher up demonstrators shared a PDF of a Christmas money card holder, I printed my directions off from Connie Stewart's website.  If you want the directions you can find them there.

We always give our daughters and son-in-law money because that way they can use it then or save it for a rainy day!  My son-in-law told me I should sell them because they look so good!

Since I was making them for family, I used retired DSP and card stock, they don't care if it is current stock or not :)

Here is what I used:

Card stock: Cherry Cobbler, Hello Honey and Whisper White
Stamp set: Tin of Tags-retired
Ink: Hello Honey and Cherry Cobbler
DSP: Presents & Pinecones-retired
Ribbon-retired
Basic Rhinestones
Laying Oval Stitched Shapes Framelits

Just by changing the DSP, you could easily do this for any occasion too!

Thank you for stopping....Mary
