Just Because Doily Cards

Well, the end of the week is here and I'm ready for some rest and relaxation too!  How about all of you?

I would like to share two cards with you today that I found over on Pinterest, you can see the originals HERE.  As you can see I used the new Smoky Slate card stock and ink, it's a nice soft gray and I like it!  Sorry about the poor pictures, it's been overcast and rainy here.  Those doilies will be in the new catalog that is going live today!

Welcome Neighbors

Hi everyone, I hope you all had a relaxing Memorial Day week-end.  Ours was very quite and laid back!

Today I would like to share with you a card that I made to give to a new neighbor and one I made for my daughter to give to her friend who just moved into their new house.  I found this lay-out over on Splitcoaststampers HERE.  I used a retired stamp set called Good Neighbor and the retired Designer Series paper that went with this stamp set during Sale-A-Bration in 2010.  Now I did use the new Soft Sky card stock for the sky. I also used the Subtles DSP paper for the grass and Certainly Celery ribbon, which is retired too.  I used my Old Olive and Soft Suede markers to ink up my stamps. Cut out some clouds and popped them up on dimensionals.  I sniped the top edge of the DSP to make it look like grass.  My card base is Crumb Cake.  The little apples are punched out using Cherry Cobbler and the Owl Builder punch.

Miss Tilly

Hi everyone, I hope you've all had a good week.  It's so sad to hear about the people in Oklahoma and what they have all gone through, we will need to keep them in our prayers in the coming months as they go thru their recovery process.

Today I'm sharing a punch art card that I made for my daughter to give to the vet that took care of the house dog where she works.  Tilly crossed over the Rainbow Bridge last Thursday.  We are all very sad and her doggie companion, Sugar Bear, is still mourning her loss too.  Tilly had numerous health problems, kiddos to the assisted living facility for taking such good care of her too.  They discovered that Tilly had bone cancer in her left front leg, she was limping really bad.  Normally in a healthy dog, they would just amputate the leg, but with Tilly and her bad heart, it was not advisable.  Tilly had also lost 10 pounds since January.  We are sad to lose our sweet girl and I will miss her coming to visit "Grandma" when she needed some one-on-one loving.  This is a picture that I used to make the card above.  Tilly will have our three dogs there to greet her, Samantha, Molly and Bella, with Bella being the happiest to see her friend, little Bay just loved Tilly!

Very Vintage Wine Bottle Tag

Hello everyone, I hope you all are having a great week so far!

Last Sunday, one of our neighbors had a Open House.  She moved in last year and has been busy working on the house to make it to her liking.  She told different neighbors that when she got done, she would have a open house so that we could all see what she has done.  She has done a wonderful job and said that she got all of her ideas, tips and etc. by watching HGTV!  I know you can get some really good ideas from their shows!

 I told hubby that I wanted to take a bottle of wine over for her.  Then, being the crafty person I'm, I had to make it look pretty, so I wanted to try my hand making something vintage looking.  I went to Splitcoaststampers and found some cute tags and that is where I got the dimensions for the tag.  Then the rest of it, I just "winged" it.  I used the Very Vintage wheel and ran it over some Very Vanilla card stock, cut to size.  I sponged all the edges with Soft Suede and also for the image.  I cut a couple of flowers and butterflies that are on the wheel and hand cut them out.  Added some pearls, ribbon and Linen Thread.  Oh and I cut a Paper Doilie in half and sponged it with Pink Pirouette and some Soft Suede.  I used the Jewerly tag punch and Tiny Tags.  I used Baja Breeze Seam Binding, card stock and ink too.  The pink is Pretty In Pink.

First Birthday Card, Dressed Up Style

Good Monday morning to all of you!  I hope you all were safe last night, in our neck of the woods, it was very windy and raining hard too, but no hail, so we were lucky on the part.

Here is a card that I made over the week-end for my daughter to give to her friend.  Her friend's daughter is turning one in June.  I asked her what the invitations looked like and she text me a picture of this adorable little girl in a purple t-shirt and a pink tutu!  I knew immediately what kind of card I wanted to make for her!  I've seen similar cards like this on Pinterest.  I didn't have any pink tulle, so I used the 5/8" Flower Trim that is in the Spring Catalog, 2013.  If you that trim, you'd better get it because it will not be in the new Catalog in June!  I took a Pink Pirouette marker to color the trim with and attached it to the dress part with Red Tape.  I used a scrap of 1/8" Taffeta ribbon for the belt and a rhinestone for some bling!  Now on the invitation, the number one was in pink glitter, so I used my Oval Framelits and used some glimmer paper for behind the dress.  I used Very Vanilla and Wisteria Wonder card stock too.   Oh I also used Red tape to adhere the dress form to the glimmer paper and behind that used some dimensionals for some depth.

Wildflower Meadow Swap

Good Tuesday morning to all of you!  I hope all of you who are Mom's had a great day with your loved ones and yes, your fur babies too!

I think I have recovered from my week-end of playing landscaper, man, is that ever hard, dirty, hot work, whew!  We got everything done and her house looks just as pretty on the outside now as she has the inside too!

This is a card that I made with a new stamp and embossing folder that will be in the new Stampin' Up catalog at the end of this month.  I've seen cards like this on the Internet and wanted to try making one too, of course, it fills my need to "color", so this is a nice stamp for me.  Great thing about it too is it is nice an flat and no extra postage will be needed to send.  Could use it for just about any occasion you would need a card for too!
