Textured Embossed Card

Good Sunday evening to all of you! About an hour ago it was snowing here, big fat, wet flakes, but it has all melted, thank goodness. Gee, I wish spring would come and stay.

Tonight I would like to share with you a card that I made, I don't remember the name for this technique but it is very easy and makes for a really pretty card. With this card I punched out my flowers and glue them to my white background piece, than I insert it into my textured embossing folder, ran it thru my Big Kick and this is what the result was. I stamped and punched out my sentiment and added some pearls, very easy.

All supplies I used were Stampin' Up, let's see if I can remember all of them, Rich Razzleberry , Whisper White and Certainly Celery card stock; pearls; 5 Petal, Boho, scallop oval and oval punches, Rich Razzleberry ink, Watercolor Trio stamp set, Tulip and Texture embossing folders, Tombow glue (green). I think that is everything!

Oh, the inspiration for this card was found HERE.

Thanks for stopping in and I also what to welcome my new followers too, so happy to have you come and visit with me in my craft room! Have a crafty evening..............Mary

New Take on RAK Cards

Today I wanted to share a RAK card that I made using THIS layout that I had used before but with a lighter color. The color is from Stampin' Up and it is called Marina Mist, I really like it! Everything is Stampin' Up except for the saftey pin, I got some of those at Jo-Ann's.
Hope your day is going well, I'm off to clean my house, it's a dirty job, but someone has to do it! Hope you all have a nice week-end too and a crafty one! Mary

Welcome to Spring

Hello everyone, I hope that you are enjoying the first couple of days of spring, I know that I have!

I would like to share my cards with you today that are RAK (Random Acts of Kindness) cards. I like doing this as it is a way for me to share my handmade cards and it will also help to lift someones spirit, has they go thru a difficult time or because of a health problem.
My friend, Chanda, mailed a card kit to make this card, you can see hers HERE, now I don't have the same supplies as she sent to me and I wanted to make a few more cards, so I pulled out some designer paper and sponged some ink onto it. All supplies I used are Stampin' Up, I like how everything coordinates so well together, makes it so easy to put everything together that way.
Thank you for stopping by to see me, I hope you all a crafty day.............Mary

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Top of the morning to all of you! Hope you are dressed in your green today.
I wanted to share my card that I made to send to my daughters for St. Patrick's day. Now I don't own but two stamp sets for this holiday, I just don't really get into it. Every year I have to look all over the Internet for inspiration for this type of card. This year it came from Stamping 411. They had this layout as their challenge last Saturday, so I used their layout.
The shamrock punch is Martha Stewart; green card base, green ink is Pear Pizazz from Stampin' Up; dark green and cream card stock is Bazzil, ribbon from Michael's and stamp set is from Stampendous.
Hope you all have a fun day today and crafty too! Mary

A Card for Spring

Well I hope everyone is having a great day today, the sun is out and suppose to be in the 60's today, yea! Spring is coming next week too.
I wanted to share with you a card(s) that I found in my e-mail box one day. These cards are completely CASE'd from Gretchen Barron, you can see hers HERE. Are they not just the most impressive cards! I really like the clean and simple design of these cards. Of course, her pictures are so much better than mine. Her sponging is much better than mine (I didn't have a sponge so I used a sponge dauber, so mine is not quite as even as hers is). These took only about 15 minutes to make, super quick and easy.
Supplies: All Stampin' Up
clear embossing powder, ribbon, scallop border punch, ink, stamp set-Thoughts & Prayers and card stock.
Welcome to my new followers, glad to have you join! Hope you all have a crafty day...........Mary

Luck of the Irish to You!

Hi, and happy week-end to all!

Today I want to share a St. Patrick's day card that I made last year for my friend whom I use to send cards to every month, sadly she passed away in December, I really miss her. I saw a card similar to this one at Archiver's and wanted to make one. The stamp set is from Stampendous and was a Archiver's exclusive set. The shammrock punch is a Martha Stewart one, paper is Bazzil. I used Prismacolor pencils and Odorless Mineral Spirits to color the image. I also added little pearls to the shammrocks.

Thanks for taking time from your busy week-end to visit with me, I appreciate it, hope you have a crafty week-end.........Mary

Bliss Mother's Card

Oh, I'm so excited to share this card with all of you, isn't it so pretty?!! Now this is not my original idea, I found this card over on Wanda's blog, HERE. It was just too pretty not to copy. Now I did change the sentiment on the front because to me it just says "Mom". I like it too because you can easily change the colors.
I used all Stampin' Up products for this card. The color is Pretty In Pink, stamp sets-Bliss and Well Scripted.
Thanks for stopping in to see me, have a crafty day...............Mary

Web Address Book

Hey everyone! Hope you all are doing well.

Today I wanted to share a little notebook that I made with my Cinch. Now if you don't have a Cinch, you could use a Bind-It-All or even a Crop-A-Dile or Big Bite to make your holes with. This is a password-email address book. I don't know about you but I have a hard time remembering the password/addresses to all of my favorites on the Internet. I found this cute idea on Splitcoaststamper about two years ago. This idea is from Wanda and you can find hers HERE Now I didn't want it to be obvious that this is a password book, so I tried to make the outside look more like a photo album. Here is what the inside looks like,

I used Georgia Pacific card stock that I found at Wal-Mart to make these books with. It is a cheaper card stock but for this, it works really well. The outside covers are covered chipboards that I found at Archiver's awhile back. I used Stampin' Up Two-Step Bird punch, also their ornament punch and scrap pieces of card stock and also a left-over piece of seam binding.

I hope you find this project useful and something that you would like to try! Hope you all have a crafty day..............Mary

RAK Cards

Hi everyone, hope you have a great start for the coming week!

I wanted to share with you today a card that I made that was inspired by a card kit that I received from my friend Chanda, you can see some other cards that she has made HERE
boy do I enjoy getting these little gifts from her, she does an outstanding job with her cards! Now her card is on the left and my card is on the right. As you can see, mine is just alittle bit different than hers because I didn't have all of the supplies that she used on hers. I used some retired designer paper that I was able to sponge my ink onto, I believe it is called "Bride and Groom" from Stampin' Up. I didn't have the crochet trim, so I used some seam binding that I received in the mail as a gift, I had to really be careful with it as I didn't have alot of it to work with, so I just attached it to the two sides (I didn't run it under the stamped image) and used sticky strip to hold it down with, also from Stampin' Up. I'm not going to list all of the things I did different, you can click on the picture to enlarge it and see what I did different. This color combo is way outside of what I usually use, it has a very rich feel to it and I will probably use it some more in the future! Thanks Chanda for the inspiration!

Supplies:
Stampin' Up: Bliss and Watercolor Trio; rich razzleberry ink and card stock, seam binding, oval and scalloped oval punch, Bride and Groom embossed paper
Hero Arts: gemstones
Tan card stock: Archiver's
sticky strip

Dog Sympathy Card

Hi everyone, hope your day is going well, the sun is out here, maybe spring is finally coming!

I received a phone call the other day from one of my ladies that I work for. She was calling to tell me that she had lost her other dog, Ellie Mae, to cancer. This poor lady, within a two week span, had to put both of her dogs down due to health issues. I feel so sorry for her, the dogs were only 9 years old, and she has always had dogs. Her family is encouraging her to get another one very soon and I'm encouraging her to go to a local shelter here in Kansas City to adopt a dog. When I go next week to work for her, I would not be surprise to see a new friend at her house.

Here is the card that I sent to her, the image and sentiment are from Clear Dollar Stamps. I used my Prisma color pencils and odorless mineral spirits to color the image in. Paper is Bazzil, ribbon from Michael's and the oval and scallop oval punches are Stampin' Up.

I hope my simple cards helps to ease her pain just a bit.

Thanks for stopping in to see me today.......Mary

Masculine Sympathy Card

Hi everyone! Well, I'm almost over my cold, thank goodness!
My husband got an e-mail from one of his former co-workers the other day telling him that his mother had passed away. His mother was in her 90's! From what his friend told him, that it was expected but it is still very hard to lose our loved ones. I told my husband that I would make him a card to send, and this is what I made. I used Stampin' Up's Thought & Prayers. I think of all the stamp sets that I have, I think this is the one that I have used the most. You can use the tree images on it for so many different occasions. Masculine cards can be tricky to make and I did struggle with this one, it just seem to need "something else" but could not think of what it would be, so I just left it very simple.
I hope you all have a happy, crafty day.....................Mary

More Thinking of You Cards

Hi everyone! Hope you are all doing well, I'm feeling alittle bit better today, thank goodness, but still no real appetite. Just had a really bad head cold, ugh, I don't like being sick either!

I bet you are all surprised by the colors on this card! I decided that I needed to start using some different colors besides just blue and pink! I was looking at my ribbons the other night and decided this would go with some retired Stampin' Up card stock that I have. I think it goes very well with each other! I used my scallop punches to cut out the white and purple card stock with. The stamp set is a retired Stampin' Up one called, Happy Moments. As you can see I used to different sentiments on them. I used Stampin' Up markers to color in the flowers as well as a blender pen too. Another clean and simple card.

Thanks for stopping by and please leave me a comment, I enjoy hearing what you have to say! Have a crafty day..........................Mary
