Petal Cone Santa

Happy Labor Day weekend to all of you! So far our's has been quite and restful, which is nice!

Today I wanted to share a 3-D project that I made. I found the inspiration for this cutie in the current Current catalog that my daughter got in the mail this week. The minute I saw this, I knew I could make those with my Petal Cone die from Stampin' Up. Wouldn't these be cute as table favors?! I included the picture from the catalog so you could see what my inspiration looked like.

I cut out two petal cone die shapes from Real Red card stock, this would also be so cute made with the Red Glitter paper too! I took a scrap piece of Whisper White card stock and ran it thru the Elegant Bouquet embossing folder, I than cut the piece to measure 1 3/4 inches tall, used some Tombow glue to adhere it to the box and trimmed the sides. Than I sponged some Blush Blossom ink (retired) onto another scrap piece of Whisper White, used Tombow glue, and adhered it right above the beard, trimmed again. I used the Two-step Bird punch and puched out two wings to use as Santa's mustache, attached with Tombow glue. Oh I did lightly sponge the edges with Bashful Blue ink to give it some depth. For the collar of his hat I used the Scalloped Circle punch and punched it twice, adhere. Nose was punch with the circle from the Itty Bitty Shape Punch Pack. Eyes were punched from the Cupcake Builder punch, used a white gel pen to make highlights for nose and eyes. For the pompom on top of hat, I used the 3/4 inch circle punch and than added Dazzling Diamonds.

There you have it, I think it turned out very nice, what do you think? Hope you all have a fun, safe holiday with your family and friends, oh and some crafting too! Mary
