Good Monday morning to all of you! Hope you had a great week-end.
Now on to the post. I've seen these cute little candle holders for the last couple of years on the Internet and have always wanted to try making some, so why not do it right before you leave to go on your mini vacation, like the night before! Yep, I just had to make some the night before we left because my daughter was coming into town to dog sit for us and I wanted to show her these. Maybe for the reception table, but they maybe too small but they were easy, fast and fun to make. I found this video over on Stamping with Frenchie. Now of course you need to be very careful when working with the flashing so you don't cut yourself but after it has been cut out with the die, it doesn't seem to be sharp anymore! You see the smaller flower that is purple? I used some spray paint to see what would happen and it worked just fine. After cutting out the flowers, I put each section into an embossing folder to add some texture. The die that I used is from Stampin' Up! and it is called, Flower Folds and the embossing folder is called Perfect Polka Dots.
Oh since I was in a hurry I just used glue dots to hold them together but you probably should use hot glue or whatever Frenchie recommends in her video.
Thanks for dropping in to see me, I enjoy vour visits! Mary

Happy Birthday Kelly
Hi everyone, hope your Wednesday is going great! I'm finally all caught up things that one normally has after a trip and now it's back to work.
As you know Sunday was my oldest daughter's birthday, she turned 29, which is so hard to believe that she is that age! Kids have a way of making their parents older with every birthday that they celebrate! Now she is a huge dog lover, image that, lol, wonder where she inherited that from? So I always try to make her card with a dog on it. I found this stamp on SCS buy/sell forum and knew she would love this image. Now it is not a SU stamp but I just could not resist that cute expression on this pups face, what attitute it has, almost like she is saying, "look at the stupid things I have to wear for my human"!
The paper and ribbon is from Stampin' Up!
Now I'm having problems with Blogger, love it when they make changes and don't tell you! So this post may be all over the place until I can get my browser updated, but I did want to share this with all of you. Thanks for stopping by to see me! Mary

Canine Capers RAK card
Well we are starting off a new week and my other daughter had her birthday yesterday! Yes, both daughters are spring babies (see why I love spring so much!) My husbands birthday was on the 18th, so April is a busy birthday month for our family. Poor me, mine is in December! Hubby and I will be returning today on the train after a long week-end get away to Chicago. He has been wanting to take me there for a long time, so he decided this past week-end was a good time and off we went! Now onto the card. This card is going to a little six year old girl who is in the hospital with Cystic Fibrosis. The lady who posted the card request stated that the little girl loves purple (so does one of my daughters) and she likes dogs (my kind of girl!) So I went through my stamps sets and came upon this retired set called Canine Capers!! I think this one will fill the dog request and I had so much fun coloring in the dogs with markers and also using my blender pen on the little curly dog in front! This card just made me so happy and was so cute in real life, I hope she enjoys it and can feel the love that I sent with it! I also added some punched BoHo flowers with a few pearls added. The leaves are from the Blossom Petals Builder punch.
All products are Stampin Up!
Stamps: Friends Fur-ever (sentiment), Canie Capers (retired)
Card stock: Almost Amethyst, So Saffron, Pretty In Pink, Certainly Celery and Whisper White
Ink: Black Staz-On
Markers in various colors
blender pen
BoHo Blossom punch and Blossom Petals Builder punch
pearls
Hope your week is off to a great start! Mary

More Mixed Bunch RAK cards
Well, I'm on a roll this week, three post (actually, I've had all of these cards sitting on my camera for the last week, waiting to be posted!) Next week, well we shall see what happens, lol. Here are a few more RAK cards that I made. I was in a paper and ribbon share and have had both just waiting on my craft table to be used, so I thought this would be a good way to use some of it! The Designer Series Paper is called Twitterpated and I LOVE these two colors! The ribbon is 3/8" pleated Satin Ribbon, again, in two of my favorite colors, one of which will be retiring soon (sad face here). I once again used the Mixed Bunch stamp set and the coordinating punch, Blossom. This time I did use Whisper White to make my flowers (Blushing Bride and Baja Breeze ink was used) and you can see the design on the flower much better and to fancy it up some I added a large pearl. I also used one of the skinny embossing folders, and the coordinating stamp from the Bordering On Romance stamp set. I colored in the flowers with Blushing Bride, Baja Breeze and Certainly Celery markers. You can click on the picture to get a better view.
I hope my simple and easy card will brighten the recipients day! Thanks for stopping in to see my cards! Mary

Mixed Bunch RAK Card
Hello, hello, hello! I just love spring, how about all of you, what is your favorite season? Here is a card that I made as a RAK (random acts of kindness) for a lady who is going thru cancer treatment for about three different types, I can't even begin to image what she is having to go thru! I wanted something that was happy and springy to send to her.
I decided to pull out this stamp set, Mixed Bunch, I also used the coordinating punch too, makes for a fast flower, even the little center is in the set! I pop the centers up on a dimensional for added depth. Probably should have used white for the flowers so the stamping would have shown up better, oh well there is always next time! I used the Framelit embossing folder along with the Edgelit die. I also used the Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer punch to add a smaller flower. I used my brayer and some Certainly Celery ink and inked up the Stripes embossing folder to make my background paper with.
Card stock: Pink Pirouette, So Saffron and Whisper White
Ink: Certainly Celery, Pink Pirouette, So Saffron and Black Staz-On
Stamp Sets: Mixed Bunch and Teeny Tiny Wishes
Punches: BoHo Blossoms, Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer and Blossom
Framelit and Stripes embossing folders with Big Shot
brayer
dimensional
Hope your day is sunny and happy too! Mary

Happy Birthday Denise
Go morning to all of my blogging friends! I hope you all had a great week-end and didn't blow away in some parts of the country! Today's card is one that I made for my youngest daughter's birthday (it fell on Easter this year). We didn't get to spend the day with her but she enjoyed a surprise sock monkey birthday party with some of her friends, sister and her fiance. I know she enjoyed the surprise that her dad and I put into this card! She loves all things Sock Monkey, so that is the card that I made for her. I stamped the monkey image twice, cutting out portions for the feet, arms, butt and mouth. I used Versa Mark and some of the other images to stamp a background with.
All products are Stampin' Up!
Card stock: Almost Amethyst (retired), Pink Pirouette, Very Vanilla, Real Red and Whisper White (I don't know the name of the brown that I used)
Stamp Set: Sock Monkey and Sock Monkey Accessories (both retired)
Ink:Black Staz-on, Versa Mark
Markers colors to go with image
Well, this is my share for today, thanks for dropping in to see me, I appreciate it! Mary

Wedding Invitations
Hi, happy TGIF to everyone! Well, as some of you have read, my youngest daughter is getting married in September and I volunteer to make her invitations, and thank you cards. I made up some samples and mailed them off to her and this is the one she picked! Now, they are very simple and not big ones, they are the standard A2 size card. Yes, I know, now a days they all make them bigger but in reality, many, many years ago wedding invitations were actually nothing but a postcard! Can you image people sending out postcard invites today!! I don't think that would ever happen! Here is what the front outside looks like. Here is what the inside will look like, I left the information off, but you can get a general idea of what it will look like. Purple is her favorite color, so that is what I'm using.
I still need to make the response cards to go on the inside, see the ribbon on the left side, that is where I will tuck the response card into and I'm seriously thinking about making those into postcard sizes, saves on postage and also saves on having to buy extra envelopes too. I have about 30 put together so far, I just wanted to get a good jump on these to make sure they are all ready by the time she needs them, now off to make some more!
