Wedding Invitations

Hi, happy TGIF to everyone! Well, as some of you have read, my youngest daughter is getting married in September and I volunteer to make her invitations, and thank you cards. I made up some samples and mailed them off to her and this is the one she picked! Now, they are very simple and not big ones, they are the standard A2 size card. Yes, I know, now a days they all make them bigger but in reality, many, many years ago wedding invitations were actually nothing but a postcard! Can you image people sending out postcard invites today!! I don't think that would ever happen! Here is what the front outside looks like. Here is what the inside will look like, I left the information off, but you can get a general idea of what it will look like. Purple is her favorite color, so that is what I'm using.
I still need to make the response cards to go on the inside, see the ribbon on the left side, that is where I will tuck the response card into and I'm seriously thinking about making those into postcard sizes, saves on postage and also saves on having to buy extra envelopes too. I have about 30 put together so far, I just wanted to get a good jump on these to make sure they are all ready by the time she needs them, now off to make some more!

Very nice! I'm guessing your daughter will be having a wedding with some shades of purple in it! Lovely, lovely.

Beautiful invitations, Mary. Weddings can be a little stressful, but they are lots of fun and joy, too. Best wishes to the happy couple!

Mary, I think this are perfect! I love the simple, but elegant look! I think the size is good, too! You know, I don't know if I would think twice if I got an A2 size, but then again, before SU, I thought all cards were supposed to be a sheet of cs folded in half, so you never know! I think the postcard thing is a good idea, too! You've taken on a lot of work, my friend! A labor of love we reserve only for our children, for sure! Looks awesome! You're such a good mommy! Congratulations to your daughter and new son in law! Maybe we'll be calling you 'grandma' by this time next year, fingers crossed! Okay, I won't jump the gun! :)
