Bloomin' Bouquet Kits

Mother's Day. Teacher appreciation. Just because. Say thank you with this no-maintenance bouquet. There's no watering, no weeding-just enjoying. This easy-to-assemble kit comes complete with the petals, stems, and buttons to create the flowers, as well as four different tags to make this the perfect gift for any occasion. All you need is some paper, ribbon or a vase to add the finishing touches to the bouquet.
As if that weren't enough, the kit contains a "baker's dozen"! This means you can create and give (or keep) a dozen flowers, and have a bonus flower left over to pass along to someone new! Give it to someone you wouldn't normally think of: a teller at the bank, a grocery store clerk, or the librarian at your local library. Anyone you encounter on your way that you'd like to give a little "thank you" to-and introduce them to Stampin' Up!

Kindness Matters

Good morning to all of you blogging friends, I hope your Wednesday has started off well.  Can you believe we had snow in our area yesterday, crazy Missouri weather!  There is a saying around here that goes, "if you don't like the weather, wait five minutes and it will change!"  How true.

I'm still on my mission to make cards for a friend who was nice to me recently and I've been making simple, quick cards that will not require extra postage for her to mail.  Here is one that I made the other day.  I used designer series paper, which makes adding color and interest to your cards so easy!  I happen to have the embossed frame laying on my work table, for ages, and finally put it to good use.  I love how the colors are soft, I found the color combo in my Color Coach.  I adhered the designer paper to the card front first, than did the embossing, so easy that way too!

Here is what I used on this card:

Stamp set: Kindness Matters
Card stock: Marina Mist and Whisper White
Ink: Marina Mist, Pretty In Pink and Certainly Celery (markers)
Designer Series Paper: Tea for Two, Spring Catalog 2013
Embossing Folders: Needlepoint Border and Designer Framers
Bitty Butterfly Punch, Spring Catalog 2013
Basic Pearls

Well I hope you like my simple card, thanks for dropping in and have a crafty day!   Mary

So Sorry

Well good Monday morning to all of you!  I hope you had a nice week-end filled with lots of fun.  Mine, well, it was filled with spraying our front yard for weeds and the usual week-end chores that we all seem to have.  Hubbys' back is bad again, he has narrowing of his spine, so he is in alot of pain and may have to have surgery, again, ugh!!  Enough of my whining, but keep him in your prayers, if you would.

I had need for a sympathy card for a fellow demo that I meet and became friends with last year at convention, tragically, she lost her husband in a car accident last week.  I was stunned, to say the least, and have had her and her family in my prayers since.  I hope my simple card will bring her a little bit of comfort in her time of sorrow.

Products used:

Card stock: Whisper White and Marina Mist
Stamp set: So Sorry
Ink: Certainly Celery and Marina Mist (markers too)
Embossing Folder- Fancy Fan

Well this is my share for today, make sure you love on your love ones today,   Mary

Secret Garden

Well it's the middle of the week and I hope you are all having a great one too!  It's chilly here today and yesterday, wish the sun would pop back out to warm it up a bit.

Today I'm sharing a card made with the Secret Garden stamp set, I also used the larger flower framelit  to make a mask with too.  This was an easy card to make, just takes about 5 minutes to color in the pink flower using ink from the pad lid and a blender pen or you could just cut out a flower too and not have to worry about coloring it in, but I love to color! This card will not require any extra postage to mail either.

Products used:

Stamp Set: Secret Garden and Oh, Hello, both are from the Spring Catalog 2013
Framelit: Secret Garden, Spring Catalog 2013
Card stock: Pear Pizzazz and Whisper White
Ink: Pear Pizzazz, Early Espresso, Marina Mist, Daffodil Delight and Regal Rose (used markers to fill in gaps)
Embossing Folder: Needlepoint Border

Thanks for stopping by, see you soon!     Mary

Betsy's Blossoms

Happy Tax Day to all of you!  I hope you all have that big task behind you, we got ours done in February, so glad when it is done too!  This past week-end we enjoyed a taste of spring and it was wonderful too, but sadly this coming week it is to be cooler and rainy but we are still in a drought condition here in the Midwest, so rain is good.

I went to convention last July and I received a card just like this while swapping with another demo except that she used Gumball Green for the background.  Since I don't have that color, I decided to use Midnight Muse and really like how bright and cheery it is too!  I hand cut out the bird and the flowers, popping the bird up on dimensionals for some depth.  I ran the Midnight Muse thru the Fancy Fan embossing folder and use the Apothecary Accents Framelit.  The flowers are stamped with Daffodil Delight and Rose Red, while the leaf is in Pear Pizzazz (which is returning).  Lightly sponge Daffodil Delight around my framelit cut out.  The sentiment is from the Friendly Phrases.  Pretty easy card to put together.

I got one of my mixer covers sewn, and now making another one for my daughters friend, but I had to take some time to get my fingers inky too, it's so relaxing!  Hope you all have a great week, see you again on Wednesday!    Mary

Grandmother's Flower Garden

That is what I believe this quilt pattern is called anyway.  You make it by sewing together small hexagon shapes, leaving a solid color around each flower so that it stands out!  Oh, I wish I had a quilt like this, so pretty!  You could make it too with all of your scraps, both fabric and paper.

I just love how cheery and soft this card turned out!  Now you do have to cut out the hexagons by hand but it's not hard but first you have to run the designer series paper thru the Big Shot in the hexagon embossing folder.

Products used:

Stamp set: Oh, Hello Spring Catalog 2013
Ink pad: Baja Breeze
Card stock: Baja Breeze and Whisper White
Designer Series Paper: Subtles Collection
1/2" Seam Binding Baja Breeze
Embossing Folder: Honeycomb, Spring Catalog 2013
Big Shot
Paper Doilies, Spring Catalog 2013
Snail Adhesive
Tombow glue, I used it to adhere my hexagon shapes with

Well, I'm off to enjoy my week-end, going with my daughter to see my other daughter on Saturday, should be a wonderful time!    Mary

DO YOU DREAM IN COLOR? WE DO!

April 4, 2013Announcing our Color Refresh! We love color and we know that you do too. Color is fundamental to who we are and what we offer. It's important for us to stay up-to-date with color trends so we are thrilled to share our updated line of colors, and hope you will be as excited as we are by the new possibilities!
Why now? In 2010 we did a big color renovation and shared our plans for smaller color refreshes every three to five years to keep our colors on trend. Well it has been three years and we are excited to announce that the upcoming 2013-2014 annual catalog will include 10 new colors (most of which are returning In Colors from previous years)! We are welcoming back some of your favorites, moving some colors around, and introducing one brand-new color, so take a look!

Beginning on April 4, 2013, all retiring/discontinued color products (i.e. ink, paper, ribbon, accessories, etc.) will be available only while supplies last. This means that some products will not be available through the retired list period. We did anticipate increased demand and based our forecasts for these retiring colors on historical sales information from previous color transitions. However, even with the most careful planning, the response to a transition of this nature can surprise everyone--including you in your own business and personal purchases. We encourage you to let your customers know that any of our retiring color products are only available while supplies last so they can get their favorites and look forward to the exciting colors coming in the 2013-2014 annual catalog. And also announced today, free shipping is going on April 6-8, 2013, which would be a great time for you and your customers to get your favorites before they are gone! (Free shipping is for North America only.)
Want to get some of the new color products for FREE? Watch for more information on April 12 for an exciting opportunity to get the new amazing colors for free. To learn more about our Color Refresh, we've provided plenty of resources under the Color Refresh section of the demonstrator website, including a Q&A, a training video, the May/June issue of Stampin' Success (which will be available online on April 12), as well as other information to help you understand and make this transition easier.

Pleasant Poppies

Hi everyone, hope you have having a great Wednesday, so far so good here.

Today I want to show you a card that I made using the same stamp set but just changed the sentiment on the front.  I'm going to be giving these cards, and some of the other ones I've shared with you, to my friend who was so very nice to me recently, I think she will enjoy getting them too!

I pulled out my Rich Razzleberry, which has sat unused for far too long to make my cards.  It is a very rich, elegant color in my humble opinion too.

At first I was going to leave the white space on the left of the stamped image alone, but it just didn't feel right.  So I pulled out another stamp set French Foliage and used two of the small background stamps in it, stamping the image off twice, then stamping onto my background.  Ahh, much better!

As you know, I like to color, so I had a good time coloring in my poppies!

Products used:

Stamp sets: Pleasant Poppies, French Foliage, Petite Pairs
Card stock: Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry and Crumb Cake
Ink: Rich Razzleberry Crumb Cake
Markers: Rich Razzleberry, Certainly Celery, So Saffron and Old Olive
Large Oval, Scallop Oval punches
1/8" Taffeta Rich Razzleberry, retired
dimensionals
blender pen

Well, this is my share for today, happy stamping!   Mary

One Card, Three Ways

Good Monday morning to all of you!  I hope you had a nice Easter, it was sunny and warm here yesterday.  Today we are to get snow showers, I kid you not, no April Fool's joke here!

Today I want to show you a card that I made three different ways, one way was very basic, the second one, was stepped up just a bit and the last one I added even more.  This card was inspired by a card  from my friend, Anne, whom I meet last year at convention.  You can view her blog HERE.

As you can see it is very simple.  I did use my Simply Score to add some lines to give it alittle bit of interest.

With this one, I added some ribbon and a few pearls, it helps to add some more detail to it.

Here is my final version of Anne's card.  No, mine is still just a little bit different than her's, but her card did inspire me to make this one.  To get the square block of color, you ink up the "D" clear block from Stampin' Up! on your ink pad and stamp it onto your card stock.  Everytime you do this it will be different.  A very simple yet pretty card to make

Products used:

Stamp sets: Blooming with Kindness, Thoughts & Prayers
Ink pads: Pretty In Pink, Baja Breeze, Soft Suede
Card stock: Whisper White, Baja Breeze, Soft Suede
Seam Binding: 1/2" Baja Breeze
Ribbon: Pretty In Pink, retired
Basic Pearls
Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border
Clear Acrylic block "D"

Thanks for coming to visit with me, I appreciate you dropping in!    Mary
