Today I want to share my first serious try at watercoloring. While not perfect, it's not to bad for my first attempt. I did go to Michael's the next day and got a book of watercolor paper to continue to practice my watercoloring technique. I want to thank Amy K for inspiring me to give it a try.
I stamped the image with VersaMark ink and then use White Embossing powder to set the image with. I used Perfect Plum and Pear Pizzazz for my ink colors. I put one drop of re-inker on the lid of my ink pad and use the Aqua Painter to pick up the ink and color with. Anyone who has followed my blog know how much I like to color, so this is right up my alley!
Stamp set is the Rose Wonder from the 2015 Occasions Catalog and the sentiment is from Wetlands. Card stock is Very Vanilla, Perfect Plum and Watercolor paper.
Thank you for coming by and I hope you have a wonderful week-end too. Mary

Wood You Be Mine?
Ok, this is a Valentine that I made for my daughter to give to her husband for Valentine's Day this year. This is a retired set from 2015 Occasions Catalog. I didn't have a chance to use it last year, but was determine to give it a go this year! I love how it turned out!!
I used the retired Starburst Circle Framelits to cut out the background piece of Very Vanilla. I stamped all my images using the Black Memento ink as I wanted to use my BIC Mark-It markers to color in the images with! I used Bermuda Bay ink for the Woodsman's shirt color. I also use Soft Sky ink and lightly sponged some for the sky and I used Pear Pizzazz for the tree images and sponging at the bottom. I then stamped the saw and and fussy cut it out. I used some small hearts from the Confetti Hearts Border and applied those to each side of the saw with Tombow liquid glue. I did use a Copic marker in Flesh color for the woodsman skin. I used the Hardwood background stamp with Crumb Cake ink and Crumb Cake card stock.
I just think this card is just way to cute!!
Thanks for stopping by, see you soon. Mary

Sky Is The Limit
Oh, I forgot to set up my blog post for today, so I'll make this a quick one.
I made this card to send to my Uncle for his birthday in March, yes, I'm trying to get ahead of the game this year, for a change.
I followed France Martin's instructions on how to use the Aqua Painter and the embossing folder, World Traveler. You can see it HERE.
I did use a small circle punch and made the propeller part with Vellum Card stock. I stamped the image in Early Espresso, then fussy cut it out. I also stamped the sentiment in Soft Suede, fussy cut it out, then mounted it on a scrap piece of Crumb Cake card stock and cut out around that, leaving a small border. I used Watercolor paper for the embossed image, Soft Sky and Crumb Cake card stock, along with Very Vanilla too. I think it turned out well for my first time doing this technique.
Thank you for coming by, see you tomorrow with the new Weekly Deals. Mary

Bloomin' Love
Well here is the last of the Valentine cards that I made for my daughter. She is giving them to the teachers who take care of Wesley when he is in daycare.
I wanted to use the Bloomin' Heart Thinlit die on all of them but didn't want them all to receive the very same card either.
I used the thick Whisper White card stock for my base, then added a piece of Blushing Bride to it. I used glue dots behind the hearts, Fancy Foil Designer Vellum, to adhere it down with. I then cut the heart shape from a silver piece of Foil paper. I used the banner shape from the Bloomin' Love stamp set, which I cut out using the banner from the Large Numbers Franelit die set. I stamped the image in Versamark ink and embossed the image with Silver embossing powder. Sentiment was stamped using Blushing Bride ink. I also used the flowers from the Bloomin' Heart thinlits to die cut out Blushing Bride glimmer flowers. Used some Basic Pearls to add to each solid flower image.
This all for now with this stamp set and thinlits, off to make a masculine birthday card, or two, to send to a man who is feeling down-in-the-dumps about his upcoming birthday.
Thank you for coming today, and have a great week-end too. Mary

Bloomin' Heart
Today I'm going to share my second take on using the Bloomin' Heart Thin lit from Stampin' Up! new Occasion Catalog.
I've really enjoyed using this thin lit too, can see many different possibilities for cards.
I've really enjoyed using this thin lit too, can see many different possibilities for cards.
This time I used the Red Glimmer paper for my heart. I also used some retired black ribbon from Stampin' Up!. I then used a piece of Very Vanilla card stock and ran it through the Big Shot with the Softly Falling Embossing Folder to add some background interest. The sentiment is from Bloomin' Love stamp set, which I stamped in Real Red. I also used Real Red card stock for my card base. I added some Basic Pearls to the solid heart images also. To make my banner, I use the Banner punch to make the flag ends.
This is my share today, I hope you have enjoyed it, thank you for stopping in. Mary

Bloomin' Love
Good Monday morning to all of my blogging friends. I hope you had a great week-end, mine was busy making Valentine cards for my daughter and a few of my favorite friends!
When I saw this frame lit in the new Occasions catalog from Stampin' Up!, I just knew that it was going on my list of "must haves"! I think that I will get a lot of mileage out of it for many different types of cards too.
For this one I used the new Blushing Bride Glimmer paper in the catalog, it is so pretty in real life. I also used the stamp set Bloomin' Love, in Blushing Bride ink, for the sentiment and then I used the stamp set, Timeless Textures, with Sahara Sand, which I stamped off once, so that the images would not overpower the focal point, the heart. The Blushing Bride pleated ribbon is some from a couple years ago, so long ago retired. Then to finish it off, I added some Basic Pearls to the middle of each solid heart. Card stock is Very Vanilla, which I lightly sponged the edges with Sahara Sand and Blushing Bride.
I hope the teacher who receives it from Wesley will like it! Thank you for coming to see me too. Mary

Awesomely Artistic
Well as promise, this is the last purple card, for awhile, anyway. I forgot how nice it is to work with purple!
I really like this stamp set, you can make a really nice card with just this set, which makes it a quick and easy one to make too.
I really like this stamp set, you can make a really nice card with just this set, which makes it a quick and easy one to make too.
For the card base I used Very Vanilla. In front of that is Elegant Eggplant, then I used another piece of Very Vanilla for my stamping canvas. First you stamp the images you want on this piece, and color it in too. On this one I used Mossy Meadow for the ferns. I then used Black Stazon for the flower image as I was going to use my Stampin' Write makers to color that part in. I used Elegant Eggplant and Old Olive as I don't have the marker in Mossy Meadow. For the splatter, I used Crumb Cake, that I stamped off once, then stamped onto the card front. Then I ran this thru the Brick embossing folder. I used Crumb Cake again to lightly sponge it so the brick image would show up more. I then stamped the label and just hand cut it out, but there is a frame lit from the Project Life Cards & Labels set that will die cut it too. On another piece of Very Vanilla, I stamped the dragonfly with Soft Sky, fussy cut it out and then used my Two-way Glue pen so I could add some Dazzling Diamonds to it. Overall, it's not a hard card to make!
I hope you enjoyed my card share today, thank you for dropping in to see it. Mary

Butterfly Basics
Wow, have you all gotten the Powerball fever? I hope whoever wins it will put all that money to really good use too.
I'm still making purple cards and promise I have only one more to share on Wednesday, then onto Valentine's Day cards.
For this card I used the Butterfly Thinlit for the focal point. The card base is made using the Thick Whisper White card stock, very sturdy and nice. I used Perfect Plum for the sponging and stamping the fern image from Butterfly Basics. I stamped the image on the Irresistibly Yours Specialty Designer Series paper from 2015 Sale-A-Bration. You stamp or sponge color on the paper and than take a paper towel and gentle wipe over the image to remove the ink from the resist areas and get the look above. Pretty neat and a easy way to add interest to your cards. The sentiment is from Petite Pairs. A layer of Perfect Plum card stock was used behind the stamped areas. The only embellishment I use was the white ribbon (non-SU), so that there would be no need of extra postage to mail.
Thank you for coming by to see me, I appreciate it so very much and if you like, please leave me a comment too! Mary

A Little Smile
Well now that all the holidays are past, things can get back to normal now, whew!!
Here is another card that I made for my friend Linda to use. The little Hedgehogs are so cute, you can't help but smile.
I used Wisteria Wonder card stock along with the Chevron ribbon (retired) for her purple card. I wanted a little bling, so I used a strip of Silver Glimmer paper behind the ribbon. The image was colored with with various colors of Stampin' Up! Write markers. I lightly sponged the background sky with Soft Sky. To apply color on the rest of the image, I used a Blender Pen.
Well, that is all for today's share, off to make some more cards, have a wonderful day. Mary

Blooming with Kindness
Happy New Year's! I hope you all had a wonderful and safe celebration. Hubby and I stayed home and had a nice quite evening together. I have my little grandson today, Mom and Dad have to work. He is such a happy little guy!
I needed some thank you notes for a few Christmas gifts I received and I used the pre-maded notecards that Stampin' Up! sells, so it makes a quick note. So this is what I came up with.
I used the Blooming with Kindness stamp set and the Watercolor Thank You. I used Pink Pirouette, Pear Pizzazz, and Sahara Sand inks. So easy and could easily be massed produced and no extra postage required!
Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day too. Mary
