Rose Wonder in Pink

Well I want to share my second try with doing water coloring, this time I took the water out of my Aqua painter and had a little dish with water on my table to dab water onto the water color paper in the areas that I was working on.  This seem to give me more control over where the ink went on the area I was working on.  I moved all around on the image, so I was not working on a area close to a area I had just finished.

As you can see, I had better control of the shading that I did on the image.  Oh one thing I did do was take my stamp pads and inked up the image in two different colors.  I used Blushing Bride for the flower and Pear Pizzazz for the leaves.  Not to bad for my second time water coloring!!  I did use my water color paper from Michael's for this just because I got it for 40% off and was a cheaper paper for me to experiment with while I teach myself to water color.  Oh, I did use Soft Sky to add color behind the image, it gives a nice soft appearance to the card front.

My card base is Soft Sky.  I mounted my art piece to a piece of Blushing Bride.  The sentiment was stamped with Sahara Sand.  The sentiment is from a retired set, but you could use any kind of sentiment with this image.

My next try I want to do in yellow.  I have two aunts with upcoming birthdays and they will be receiving my art projects, I hope they like them!!  Now onto some more Valentine cards, it is coming faster than I want it too!

Thanks,  Mary

GORGEOUS!!!! Oh, my, Mary....this is absolutely stunning! I, too, love coloring...it is so relaxing to me. Growing up, my Mom spent a lot of time coloring with us. My goal always was to be as good as she was but I always fell short...she could do amazing things with a box of crayons!!! I can't wait to see what you create when you have 'had more experience' cause this is just amazing for your second time!
