Sunflower

Gee, where did the week-end go?  Happy Monday to all of my blogging friends, it's so nice to see you here again, I hope your day is off to a great start!  In my part of the country, fall is here, with warm days and cool nights, with the leaves starting to turn too.

A couple days ago, I got a text from my daughter asking if I could make a wedding card for her friend who is getting married the 19th.  Sure.  The girls know now that when they ask for cards I like to know what they need them for and what kind of theme they are looking for too.  Well, her friends wedding theme is Sunflowers and burlap.  Sure I can do that...now what the heck will I do?!  So as I was driving home the other day, it hit me, I have the Sunflower Background stamp, whew, this is great and I got more excited because I have some burlap ribbon too!

Here is the card that I came up with.  I used the ink colors of Daffodil Delight, So Saffron, Crushed Curry and Chocolate Chip markers.  I colored the stamp the way I thought it should look and liked the finish results.  I also took a color spritzer with the Chocolate Chip marker and spritzed some color on the background.  I also used the 1 3/8" x 5/8" oval punch (retired) on top of the large oval punch.  Then onto the inside.  After I applied my sentiment, I felt it needed something too but was afraid that if I tried to stamp the sunflower on the inside lower corner, it wouldn't work.  So I ponder on this for awhile and decided to try some punch art.  So I google, punch art sunflower and finally found one that I thought would work.  I used the wing of the Bird Builder punch and a 1" circle punch and use the 7/8" scalloped circle punch and punched on one side.  Added some detail and glued it together.  Before I applied it to the card, I sent a picture to my daughter and ask her, "leave it or take it off".  As you can see, she said to leave it on.
Oh, for card stock I used Very Vanilla and So Saffron.  Stamp set is Petite Pairs.

It's so nice to be able to make cards that really suit the theme or ideas of the event that you need them for and since my daughters' friend is a stamper too, I know she will really like it!

Thanks for stopping in to see my creations, I appreciate it!  Mary

Wow Mary - what an honor!

Your daughter was spot on - the inside was perfect!

Sunflowers are symbolic to my sisters and me. My mother had a hat with a sunflower on it.
