Good Monday morning to all my stamping friends, I hope you've had a great two weeks. Mine has been filled to the brim with Wesley, our new grandson! While he had some trouble getting here and Mom had some health issues, I'm glad to say that they are well on there way with there new lives too. Wesley is growing, at his last weigh-in he was 9 pounds and Mom has lost all of her baby weight! He weighted in at 8 pounds 13 ounces and was 21 inches long and was born on August 12th. Life is very good!!
Today's card is one that just popped into my mind, so I wanted to give it a go and see how it would turn out. I used the cup stamp and the sentiment from the July Paper Pumpkin set, I really like this one, lots of ways to use it.
I did use retired Designer Series Paper, but you could easily use what you have. I used the Triple Banner punch to make my banner with, so easy! The flowers on each cup are stamped using the Garden In bloom set. Ink colors are Smoky Slate, Daffodil Delight, Pool Party and Pear Pizzazz. The embossing folder is called Fluttering. I hand cut the cups out which was not hard at all.
Thank you for checking my blog out, I really appreciate it so much! Mary

Minion Birthday Card
My youngest daughter has a boyfriend who is five years old! We were talking about how well-behaved he is and she really enjoys being around him. I asked when his birthday is and it is in December. Ok, what is does he like, the Minions, ok, so I went surfing around on Pinterest for some Minion Flip cards, so I could use my die.
I found a really cute one at Carol L. blog, you can see her card HERE, so I set about making this card. It did take some time but I had fun seeing it come all together too.
I used the largest Circle Framelit to trace the round edge of the Minion head, it really does make a big difference in the appearance of the card! Then I set off to punching and sponging and trimming and gluing everything together. I really like how it turned out.
I wish I would have sponged his pocket.
Here it is closed tighter so you can see it better.
Here is what the inside of the card looks like. I used Hey Little buddy, retired, for the sentiment.
Card stock: Island Indigo, Basic Black, Soft Suede, Whisper White, Daffodil Delight and Silver Foil
Ink: Smoky Slate (lightly sponged the outside of the front eyeball), Soft Suede-sponge the inner eyeball and Memento Black Ink
White Gel pen
Circle Thinlit
Punches: Circle-2-1/2", 2", 1"and 1/2", Modern Label, Large Oval and Owl Builder
Fringe scissors for the hair
Whew, I think I got everything listed!!
See you again soon, Mary

You've Got This
I got this stamp set last month and have been trying to figure out how I was going to color it in so I would like it. I finally remember that I have some Shimmery White card stock. A lot of demonstrators have stated that they like this card stock for this type of coloring, so I pulled it out along with my Aqua Painter and two ink pads, Tangelo Twist and Mossy Meadow and got busy "painting".
I stamped the background image with Watercolor Wash with Soft Sky. I did cut out the image and temporarily adhere it to the card stock before stamping, that is why there is a halo around the image. I then stamped the image with Staz-On black ink and got to coloring the image in. Not to bad for my first try either!
I then tied some Linen Thread around the card front. I used a sentiment from the Garden in Bloom set. I used Tangelo Twist card stock to adhere the card front too. I mailed this card off to lady who is recovering from a really bad stroke, hope she likes it.
No baby yet, but soon! Mary
Update: Little Wesley Matthew made his appearance into the world on Wednesday, August 12th at 5:56 pm. He weighted in at 8 pounds, 13 ounces and 21 inches long. He had a little bit of a struggle, shoulder got hung up and his left arm is very sore but he seems to be in very good health. Mom is very tired and sore but oh so happy too!

Snack Basket Sign
My daughter stopped by on Sunday and wanted me to make a sign for her. She is going to take a basket to the hospital filled with candy and snack items, as a small "thank you" to the people that will help her with her little "peanut" when it comes. I think it is a cute idea and I think they will appreciate the thought too.
I just used the papers that I had left-over from making the shower favors with and use the cute stamp set, Zoo Babies. I also use Smoky Slate for the elephant. Flowers where punched out with the flower from the Itty Bitty Accents punch pack. I used Basic Pearls for the flower centers.
I don't know if I will be posting next week, if time allows, I will for sure!
Thanks, Mary

Traveler
Well, the final week count down has began at our house. Baby will come either on August 14th or the 15th, which is Daddy's birthday too. The excitement is growing and we all can't wait to meet the little one!
Now the new Daddy's birthday is on Friday, August 15th, so to make sure he gets his birthday card ahead of the excitement I mailed it off today to him. Don't want him to feel left out!
I used the stamp set Traveler as I think it makes a really nice masculine card. I used the Circle Card Thinlit for my card base, it sure makes a nice flip card. The only bad thing about this type of card is where to put some money? So I cut a scrap piece of card stock and adhered it to the back and made a pocket for some money, looks nice too.
Stamp sets: Traveler, World Map and Petite Pairs
Card stock: Very Vanilla and Early Espresso
Inks: Early Espresso and Crumb Cake
2-1/2" Circle punch
Washi Label punch
Candy Dots
Thanks for stopping! Mary

July 2015 Paper Pumpkin
Good Friday morning to all of you! Well, no baby yet, but for sure by Friday, August 14th. Then we will finally get to meet the newest family member, can't wait!!
Today I'm going to share a alternate way of using the stamps from My Paper Pumpkin. This month is has a cup with four different sentiments, a couple of plant like stamps and also a tea bag!
I saw a card similar to mine on Heather H. blog. She used current Designer Series Paper, but I wanted to use some retired paper as a test run to see how it was going to turn out. I had a card front that I had sponged with Island Indigo in my stash, it was some of the Irresistible You paper from Sale-A-Bration, so that is how I choose my colors. I like how it turned out! I fussed cut the cups out, which wasn't too hard either.
Stamp set: July 2015 Paper Pumpkin
Ink: Island Indigo, Black Memento and Whisper White
5/8 inch White Satin ribbon

Have a great week-end. Mary

Work Of Art Butterfly Birthday
A fellow demonstrator that I follow posted a picture of this card on her blog the other day, thanks Donna for sharing, and I just had to copy it. So simple and fast to make too.
I used the new Bold Butterfly Framelits. First I stamped with the Work of Art swoosh stamp in Calypso Coral, So Saffron and Pool Party. I did use my Stamp-a-ma-jig to get my swoosh pattern to line up the way it did. Then I placed the frame lit over the stamped area and cut it out. I popped the card front up with dimensionals and then used Tombow Multi-Purpose glue on the center of the butterfly body to adhere it down. That gives the wings some dimension. I added some Basic Rhinestones to the center and the card was done! I used Build A Birthday sentiment.
Off to make my son-in-law's birthday card, can't forget him! Mary

Watercolor Wings
Hi, yesterday I was busy working on a butterfly card I saw on Dawn Griffith's blog. Dawn made a gift bag to attached her's to, but I wanted it for a birthday card. I really like how it turned out too! I also thought it would look pretty on the Brick Wall embossing folder background.
I ran the embossing folder through the machine before I remember to ink the folder, so I just gentle tapped the ink pad to ink up the raised areas. Then on the next card I remember to ink the folder up first. It is on the left hand side.
The next picture is a close up of the butterfly
Stamp sets: Watercolor Wings and Butterfly Basics
Ink: Tangelo Twist, Pumpkin Pie, Mossy Meadow, Crumb Cake on one card and Sahara Sand on the other card and Black Memento
Card stock: Whisper White, Tangelo Twist and Basic Black
Brick Wall Embossing Folder
Rhinestones
Stitching thread from the Burlap ribbon (the thread that is on each edge of the ribbon, I pulled off to ravel the ribbon but used the outside thread instead.)
Dimensionals and Glue dots
Off to price items for our upcoming garage sale, hope we have a good one! Mary
