Today you are probably going to wonder if you've come to the right blog, lol. I've used a stamp set that I at first liked and then decided no, but then decided to get it, so here it is.
When I was making this card I was thinking of my friend Linda, because she like bright colors. It would be better is it was a dog, she is a dog lover too. the Designer Series Paper is called Kaleidoscope. I used Whisper White and Bermuda Bay card stock along with some Silver Glimmer paper. I used the Banners Framelits to die cut my banners out with. Used a couple of markers and my blender pen to color the cat with. Linda will be getting this for her birthday, it's Feb. 2nd, but we are going to breakfast on Jan. 27th, so she will have it before this is posted. Hope she likes it!

Banner Birthday Card
Well, today I'm sharing some more Sale-A-Bration items with you. This time I used the Banner punch and twine from the Sweet Sorbet accessory pack, also the Decorative Dots embossing folder, I really like this folder too! The DSP is also from SAB, it's called Sweet Sorbet and I really like the soft pastel colors used in this paper, lovely. The stamp set is called See Ya Later, it has four cute stamps in it. Gee all the items I used were FREE and I really like this card too. Oh, I did use Whisper White and Coastal Cabana card stock and Coastal Cabana ink too.
I found the original card over on Heidi's blog, Running With Scissors. The only non SAB items I used where the Silver Glimmer paper, rhinestone, heart is from the Owl Builder Punch and the flower from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack. I did use my sewing machine to sew the banners to the front of the card. Another fun card to make!
Have a great day!! Mary

Perfect Pennants
Hi all! I was able to get some new goodies recently and have been playing with them ever since. Lots of really nice stamps and Designer Series Paper in this new Occasion Catalog!
While cruising around on Facebook one day, a fellow demonstrator posted a picture of a card. I really liked the color and the stamp set she used, so I copied it, for the most part. Sorry no name was mention as to who created it.
As you can see, I made it two different ways. I used the new Banners Framelits dies to cut the pennants out with and the matching Perfect Pennants stamp set. On the inside I stamp "Get Well Soon". I used Whisper White and Coastal Cabana card stock, Silver Glimmer paper for some bling too. Ink is Coastal Cabana too. The embossing folder is called Decorative Dots and it will be available for free during Sale-A-Bration with a $50.00 order before shipping and taxes. Sale-A-Bration began January 28, 2014 and runs until March 31, 2014.
Thanks for coming by, see you again soon, Mary

Blessed Easter
Hi ladies and men, I'm back today with some new things to share. Boy, I tell you the new Occasions Catalog has some really nice things in it. It's hard not to get one of each!
Today I'm sharing a stamp called Blessed Easter. I love the tulips on the front but didn't want to use it for Easter cards only. So I carefully cut the sentiment off and mounted it on one side of the wooden block and the tulips on the other side. Now I have two stamps from one and will get a lot more use from it too!
I used the stamp set, One in a Million for the sentiment, I've had this set on my wish list for awhile and decided to get it this time, love the font!
I used: Wisteria Wonder and Pear Pizzaz markers with a blender pen to do my coloring with. Used Black Stazon ink for the sentiment and image. Whisper White and Wisteria Wonder are the card stock colors, then I added a few pearls and a rhinestone.
Simple but stunning! Thank you for coming by to see me, I'd love to hear your comments too. Mary

Wetlands
Happy TGIF, I hope your week went well for all of you.
Well, as you can see I'm still using the stamp set Wetlands. This time for the background I used a technique called "Direct to Paper". What this means is that you take your ink pad and apply it directly to your card stock, in a drag and pull motion across the card stock. I used a lighter touch and this is what I came up with. Now every background that you use this technique for will be different, no two will be alike. Don't judge your background until you have stamped your image on it, putting the image on it makes all the difference in how it looks. I found a card just like this done by Helen Read who is located in the UK. Since I've not ever done this, I wanted to give it a try. I used Soft Sky, Smoky Slate and Crumb Cake. Card stock used is Whisper White, Crumb Cake and Midnight Muse. Some Linen Thread was wrapped around the card front, I think, making it a great card for a man.
I hope you will try this technique out sometime, it does make a very quick card! Thanks for stopping to look, I appreciate it! Mary

Wetlands
Well, as promised, I'm going to show you a card made with the stamp set called Wetlands. I think the reason I like this set is that it's a good one for making guy cards with. You can use it for any occasion too, be it sympathy, birthday, thinking of you, etc.
In December, I received another demonstrators monthly newsletter and this card was one she highlighted. So I saved her newsletter until I could get around to make her card. It was from the Stamp Lady Katie. Thanks Katie for sharing your card!
This was a pretty quick card to make once I figured out the dimensions for my layers. I have a small notebook that I keep on my craft table and for each new card I write down the card title and all of the dimensions I used for each card, that way I can easily reproduce the card again in the future, if needed.
I used Black Staz-On ink for the image, well actually I stamped it twice, once on card stock and once on a scrap piece of paper. I cut the goose image on the scrap paper out and put it over the goose image on the card stock to mask it off so when I sponged on the Pear Pizzazz and the Marina Mist, my goose stayed clean. I then took the mask off and used some Crumb Cake ink and a blender pen to color the goose in with. Oh, I used a 1" circle punch, as a mask, to make the sun in the background. I also took another scrap of paper and tore the edge to mask off the bottom too. I then stamped my sentiment on and tied some Linen thread around the card a couple of times and tied it off.
I hope you like this card, and I thank you for stopping by to see it too! Mary

Chalk Talk
Good Monday morning to all. This month sure is passing by really quick, usually January seems to drag by for me, but not this year anyway.
Today I will share one last Chalk Talk card with all of you. Yes, there are other images that are in this set, I will have to work on getting some cards made with those so that I can share them with all of you.
This was my attempt at the blackboard look, um, I need to work on it some. I used Basic Black and Real Red card stock for this, along with the Tea Lace Doily, Red and Silver Glimmer paper, 1/8" Real Red Taffeta ribbon, Adorning Acents, heart one, and the new Banner punch that you can earn during Sale-A-Bration this year. Oh and of course White Craft ink on a sponge. Oh my and of course the matching framelits too, can't forget those, they make cutting out the images a SNAP!!
Ok, the next card I'll share will be from the Wetlands stamp set, that is one set that everyone should have, it makes some wonderful cards with it! Mary

Scalloped Tag Topper Punch Box
I subscribe to a lot of blogs that are either cooking or deal with crafts/cards. Yesterday in my in-box, was this cute little box made with a strip of card stock and the new scalloped tag topper punch. Glenda Calkins has a wonderful video, HERE, that shows you how to make them. You get four boxes out of one 8-1/2" x 11" piece of card stock.
I used the Hearts A Flutter stamp set and Framelits. Real Red card stock along with Whisper White. Ink colors are Real Red and Coastal Cabana. The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes. Ribbon is 1/8" Silver. I choose to wrap the nuggets before I put them in the box. Nugget wraps are 1" x 3".
Now I need to "shake a leg" and get some Valentine cards ready for the mail, the 14th will be here before we know it. Mary

Pretty Topiary
Today I want to share with you what a fellow demonstrator made with the new Spiral Rose Original Die in the Occasion Catalog 2014. Isn't it beautiful! It would be perfect for a centerpiece for a wedding or shower.
I asked Linda's permission to share her picture of her creation with all of you and she said she would be honor. You can see Linda's blog post HERE. As you can see, this die is not just for cards alone!
I hope you are having a wonderful Saturday, it's really windy here today. Mary

Chalk Talk
Good Friday morning to all. I hope your New Year is going well and that you all are staying warm too!
While I had the Chalk Talk stamp set out the other day, I decided to stamp off some more in different colors and play around some more with it. Here is another card that I made.
For this one I used Whisper White Craft ink and Island Indigo card stock. Then I pulled out my Color Coach to use as a guide to see what other colors go well with it, Pool Party and Calypso Coral where shown. I use the retired Corner punch and some Silver Glimmer paper and the newly retired Script embossing folder for the background. Seam binding is Pool Party. Now to decided what sentiment to use on the inside of the card.
Well come back again, I have a few more cards using this stamp set, thanks! Mary

Chalk Talk
Well, this last week I've gotten a lot done in the craft room, it's kinda of nice to just pull stuff out and play around with it until you come up with a card that you like. Sometimes I have to let the cards sit overnight and "cook" and then come back the next day to see if I still like the way it looks. Sometimes yes, other times no.
This card was made as a thank you card for a online order, yes, I like to send cards that don't look like thank you cards, I usually put a note inside the card and that way they can reuse the card if they choose too.
I used Whisper White Craft ink for the main image, probably should have done this part different, but in real life, it is easier to read. Card stock is Coastal Cabana and Whisper White, Silver Glimmer paper, Blushing Bride DSP, Basic Pearls and Rhinestones, Framed Tulip Embossing Folder, Tea Lace Paper Doilies and retired Whisper White ribbon.
So another card just for the fun of it, so, go and have some fun and see what you can create! Mary

Wildflower Meadow
Well, I must be on a Pistachio Pudding craze right now and no I'm not pregnant, lol! Do any of you remember the Watergate Cake? It is made with Pistachio Pudding and it is very moist! Of course anything with Dream Whip for icing is yummy!
I decided to pull out my Wildflower Meadow stamp and add some ink to it, that also means getting the embossing folder that goes with it out too. I used Whisper White Craft ink to stamp the image with, then embossed it.
Then I decided to try my hand with the Aqua painter and varies ink colors to color the image in with. It gives this card a very pastel and soft look to it. As you can see, I added some Basic Pearls to the flower centers too. The sentiment is from Blooming with Kindness. I mailed this off for my mom's birthday earlier this month, I hope she liked it. You can click on the picture to get a closer look, if you would like.
Hope to see you all tomorrow, Mary

Hello Sweet Friend
Oh my goodness, this month is just about half over, it sure is moving along fast!
I want to share a card that I made, just basically playing around with some items and while it is not the greatest card, it was fun to make, I was trying out the Envelope Punch Board and making a "file folder" card. Maybe because I don't do vintage all that well. I made this as a thank you card for an online order.
I made the Newsprint looking card stock with Very Vanilla and the Dictionary background stamp. Embossing folder is Pretty Print, Pistachio Pudding 3/8" Ruffle Stretch Trim, Basic Pearls, Pistachio Pudding card stock, Blushing Bride card stock and for the sentiment, Six Sided Sampler. The flower trim is retired. Oh I sponged all of the edges with Soft Suede ink too. I hope my friend likes her card!

Backyard Basics
Hello! I'm glad you stopped by to visit with me today.
Today I'm sharing a vintage card made with the Envelope Punch Board, making a file folder card. Now this one turned out better and I think it is because I have a stamped image on it. You will be able to see the other one on Monday. I got my post mixed up, ugh.
This is all for today, thank you for stopping in! Mary

The sentiment is from the very first Paper Pumpkin and I used the Very Vintage wheel too. I mailed this card to a lady that requested cards for her friend who is going thru cancer treatment and then found out that she, herself, also has breast cancer, so I wanted to send her some encouragement too. I hope it lifts her spirits.
This is all for today, thank you for stopping in! Mary

Hexagon Punch Thank You Card
Today I will share my last Christmas Thank you card. I saw one like this on Dawn Olchefske's blog and it looked so easy and simple to make, so I just had to give it a try and it it easy too!
I used Crumb Cake card stock, red glimmer paper and Season of Style DSP. Oh and of course the Hexagon punch too! Stamp sentiment is from Oh, Hello in Soft Suede ink.
To see how to make this you can view a mini photo tutorial HERE that was done by Lyssa Zwolanek.
Hope you have a great week too! Mary

Sunburst Thank You Card
Hi to all of you, I hope your day is off to a great start.
I don't remember where I first saw this and now it is all over the internet but they are not very hard to make either and you can actually make these with strips of Designer Series Paper if they are wide enough. Great way to use up those strips that are too good to throw out.
For my card I used Winter Frost Specialty DSP, with Pool Party card stock and silver glimmer paper. I added the star from the Merry Mini Punch Pack. This is a Christmas thank you card that my daughter ask for. HERE is a video for you to watch on how to make this card.
Thanks for dropping in! Mary

Wonderful Wreath Thank You Card
Oh, are you surprised to see this card again? Well the story behind this is that one of our Christmas cards was returned to us, so I cut the window part of the card off and re-attached it to another card. My daughter ask if I would me her three Christmas themed thank you cards, so I thought, "why not reuse the wreath"? As you can see, all I did was changed the sentiment and had a really quick and easy card!
You can view the Christmas card HERE. See, we crafty people like to reuse what is still usable! Have any of you done this before?
Well, thanks for coming to see me! Mary
