Cookie Cutter Christmas

Well I'm off to a snail's pace in that I've started making my Christmas cards today!  Yes, I know, in August, Mary, PLEASE!!!  Well, last year I was making my cards in December and I don't like feeling rushed when I'm making them, that is because I don't make 30 of one card, I like to switch it up and use different stamps and punches.

The one I'm sharing today will be available starting September 1st, 2016 from the new Holiday Catalog.  This stamp set and punch are so darn cute and there are so many things you can use these cute images for, think cards, tags, treat decorations!

Here is my first try with this stamp set, Cookie Cutter Christmas and Cookie Cutter Builder Punch.

Now after I finished making this card, I realized that I had wanted to emboss the card front, but maybe I can do that the next time I make one!  The DSP behind the reindeer is retired because I'm trying to use up some of my older DSP before I buy any new.

Card stock is Real Red, Very Vanilla and Crumb Cake
Ink is Real Red, Black Memento and Early Espresso
Sentiment is from the same stamp set

Well this is my share for today, come back Friday and see another Christmas card!!  Mary

Halloween Matchbook Holders

The other day, these adorable matchbook holders popped up in my e-mail.  These cute matchbook holders where shared by Angie Pyjas, you can see her video tutorial HERE  On the inside of each matchbook is one little package of Tic Tac which you can find in the candy aisle at Wal-Mart.  Here is a picture of the bag, there are 50 little packages, each package has 4 Tic Tac inside and it cost right around $3.00, so it is a very good deal!!

I once again used the Spooky Fun along with the matching edgelits dies called Halloween Scenes.  I used Basic Black and Pumpkin Pie card stock along with the Halloween Nights DSP.  I also used Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie inks along with Black Memento ink.  I use the 1-3/8" circle punch to punch out the moon with.  I used Tombow glue to secure the DSP onto the card stock.  Here they are closed.

Here is what they look like opened.

These would make cute co-worker gifts to leave on their desk!

I hope you give these a try, they are so cute and fun to make too!!  Mary

Cookie Cutter Halloween

Today I'm sharing another sneak peek from the new Holiday Catalog with you.  It's a set that goes with a coordinating punch called Cookie Cutter Builder punch.  I've seen these cute little guys made into banners too.

Also in the set is a scarecrow, mummy and a skeleton, with halloween bag, a crow, a bat, a bow tie and Dracula's ears!  The Designer Series Paper is called Halloween Night.  Card stock is Perfect Plum which I used the 2-1/2" circle punch and Smoky Slate.  I used the bat stamp and used Smoky Slate ink to stamp them on the card front.  I use varies markers to color my main image in with.  Pretty easy card to make too!

Thank you for coming by.  Mary

Spooky Fun

Hi everyone I hope you had a wonderful weekend, I sure did!  I finally got into my craft room to clean it and to create some cards too.  I felt so much better after I sorted through some of my older stamp sets to box up for the garage sale we are having next month.

I finally got to play with some of my stamp sets from my pre-order and it was so relaxing too.

For this card I used a stamp set called Spooky Fun and the matching edgelits called Halloween Scenes.  These edgelits could easily be used on their own without the stamp set, makes a really cool scene!  I liked Nadine S. card so much that I CASE'd it, thank you Nadine for sharing your talent with your fellow demo's.  You can see her card HERE.

For card stock I used Dapper Denim, Whisper White, Basic Black and Pumpkin Pie.  For the ink it was So Saffron, Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie, for the moon and Memento Black for the bats, moon and pumpkin faces.  I also used Dapper Denim to sponge the Whisper White background to give it a midnight look.  I made a few stars with my white Gel-Pen-retired.  You can click on the picture to get a closer look of the card.

I'm going to be making more Halloween cards and also starting to make my Christmas cards too!

Have fun today and will see you again Wednesday.  Mary

Marquee Messages Birthday

Oh, I'm a bad mother-in-law, I forgot to get my son-in-law's birthday card in the mail so that he would receive it on time.  Do I get points for mailing it ON his birthday, lol?!

I pulled out a stamp set that they gave to us at OnStage 2016 in Salt Lake City this pass April.  At first I was not too impressed with it, but the more cards I see made with it, I'm beginning to like it more and using it more too.

For the card stock I used Island Indigo, Tempting Turquoise, Tangelo Twist-retired, and Whisper White.  For the little light bulbs and stars, I used yellow Stickles because I like how it looks, makes me think of actual light bulbs!

In hindsight, I should have done something for the message in the middle, but since I was late to begin with in getting his card to him, I didn't want to take a chance on messing up what I already had going.  I did fussy cut out the three separate pieces and layered them.  I think the color combination goes well together.  Anyway, I know he will like the cash that is on the inside!!

Hope to see you Friday.    Mary

Thoughtful Branches

Good Monday afternoon.  I finished this card late last night, but ran out of time to type up my blog post, so here we are.  I made this card as a "thank you" for a Online order I received last week, thanks Caron!!

I used the limited time offer stamp set, called Thoughtful Branches, that also has a matching Thinlit die set too.  Oh some of the pretty cards that have been made with this set is just stunning!!  This set is only available until the end of August.

Oh, I also used a new embossing folder in the new Holiday Catalog called Cable Knit, so cool!!  Since I went with a fall theme card, this went perfect with my stamped images!!

I used Very Vanilla and the retired Hello Honey card stock.  For the ink colors I used, Pumpkin Pie, Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, Soft Suede and Hello Honey, retired.  I use some gold sequins and Linen Thread too.  This makes me think of the cooler, fall weather that will soon be here!

Thank you for coming to see me latest creation!!  Mary

Floral Phrases Thank You

Well here we are at the end of the week, I'm ready for the week-end so that I can get into the craft room and do some more creating, my way to de-stress!

While I had the Floral Phrased stamp set on my table, I decided to make a thank you card for a recent online order, thanks Julie and friends for your order!

I decided to use a color I haven't used for a very long time, Rose Red.  I used it for my ink color and card stock and also Whisper White.  I also used my Stampoholic stamping tool to try and get my images where I wanted them.  I still need to get the hang of using this tool, but it did come in handy for this card.  I see more practice is needed, which will be a fun task to do!

Thank you for coming by, I appreciate you stopping in to see my cards, Thank you!!  Mary

Detailed Floral Thinlits

Well we had a nice three to four days of cooler weather and it made our morning walk more enjoyable!  Today, however, it was heat and humidity back on and a very long walk, hot and sticky.

My daughter ask for a wedding card, so I wanted to try the new Detailed Floral Thinly dies.  This is a really fast card to make, as the dies do all of the hard work for you.  Seriously, I think it took all of 15 minutes to make this card.

I used Night of Navy card stock for the floral part and Thick Whisper White for my card base.  I used Craft White ink for the sentiment, which is from the Floral Phrases, which you can purchase as a bundle and say 10%.

I did use a few Basic Rhinestones to a few of the flower centers.

Thank you for stopping by.  Mary

Thoughtful Branches

Well here we are again and it's Monday, I hope you all enjoyed your week end, I did!!

This is a limited time stamp set, until the end of August 2016, and I have to tell you, I've seen some pretty amazing cards that have been made with this card!  I CASE'd this card from Dena Rekow, you can see her card HERE thanks for sharing!

I used Flirty Flamingo card stock and ink, it really goes well with Rich Razzleberry, which is what I used for a piece under the top layer of the card, I didn't quite get it off-set like Dena did, but it is under the flower piece.  I stamped the background with Striped and I really like that stamp.  I also used Crumb Cake card stock and embossed it with the Brick embossing folder and then swiped my White Craft ink over it to bring out the brick images more.  The stem is die cut from Pear Pizzazz.  I wrapped some Linen Thread around and tied a bow.  The sentiment is stamped on Very Vanilla, Flirty Flamingo ink.  The stamp set I used was Butterfly Basics.  I added a few white dots with my gel pen and then dab on some Wink of Stella for a little bit of shimmer.

I hope they carry this set forward, it has been wildly popular with SU demonstrators!

Thank you for coming by, I appreciate it.....Mary

Baby Bear

I don't know about you all, but I'm so happy that today is Friday!  I'm ready to rest and relax this week-end and get into the craft room to make some more cards.

This is the new stamp set called Baby Bear.  It is a two-step stamp set, but really you have three different images that you have to stamp to get the image.  For my bear I used Sahara Sand and Soft Suede for the bear and for the bow I used Pool Party.  Yup, this card is for a baby boy.

I mounted the bear piece on a piece of Marina Mist and pop it up with dimensional.  The sentiment is stamped with Memento Black ink.  The background images are from Made With Love using Pool Party ink on Pool Party card stock.  Pretty simple card but oh so cute!

Thank you for coming by.  Mary

Jar of Love

Happy Wednesday!  I hope you are all doing well and haven't melted from all of this heat!  Our temp's are unbearable right now, mostly because of the high humidity, ugh!

I recently got this stamp set and have had so much fun making different scenes with it.  This one is for a recent online order that someone placed with me, I hope she likes it!  Thank you Caron for the order too!!

There are so many cute elements that come in this bundle, Jar of Love and Everyday Jars Framelits Die, there are three different size jar framelits that come in the set!

Card stock: Bermuda Bay and Whisper White
Inks: Bermuda Bay, Pool Party, Pear Pizzazz, Crushed Curry, Flirty Flamingo, Memento Black and Soft Sky
Dimensionals
Basic Pearls

Once everything is stamped and cut out, it goes together very quickly!

Well I'm off to finish a card on my table, hopefully I will have it ready by Friday to share!  Mary

Paper Pumpkin April 2016

Hello to everyone.  So sorry to be gone this past week.  I'm not one to share too much private information on my blog because, well gee, you come here to see cards and such, but I think it will help if you know why and also too for future times when I'm not sharing.

My mother passed away on June 9th and I have been busy trying to get everything in order with my parents estate.  Some of you know that my dad has Alzheimer's.  We have him in a wonderful place, it happens to be where my daughter works, and he is receiving excellent care.  Since he can't make those important decisions anymore, it is up to me to do now and I have to manage his affairs to the best of my abilities.  We got their car sold and with the help of my brother and family members we now have the house on the market, please say a prayer that it sells fast for us!  Hence, my crafting time has been pushed off to the side for awhile, all though, I did get in the craft room yesterday for some much needed crafting, which is a great way for me to relief stress.

I finally got the April 2016 Paper Pumpkin kit made, which was this very cute wreath.  I decided to hang it on my Dad's door to his room!  Everything I needed to make this cute wreath was included in the kit, can't get any easier than that!!

I used a sentiment from a Sale-A-Bration kit, as I didn't want it to say "Happy Spring".

Thank you for stopping in and I hope you have a wonderful day!  Mary
